The administration of prisons transfers the detainee Ghadanfar Abu Atwan, who is on hunger strike since 34 days against his administrative detention, to the prison of Al-Ramla Clinic
The Commission of Detainees' Affairs stated that the administration of prisons continue ignoring the health situation of the sick detainee Muwafaq Erouq (78 years). He is detained at Ashkelon prison and his health contention deteriorates day by day.
He lost 15 kg due to his health deterioration and ignorance by the occupation authorities, where he suffers from problems in his lungs, hypo tension, permanent fatigue, walk inability and cancer in the liver and intestines.
The Commission stated that the administration of prison still ignoring the demands of the detainee such as providing him special kinds of food that suit his health condition, as he also eat soup, and takes six kinds of medication.
It is worthy to mention that the detainee Erouq is from Yafa Al-Nasrah, detained since 2003 and sentenced to 30 years.
The Commission of Detainees' Affairs stated that 43 detainees of Itzion prison threatened the administration of prison to start a hunger strike in a protest against their harsh detention conditions and the humiliating treatment by jailers.
The commission pointed out that this step comes due to attacking the detainees and humiliating them by the jailers, and providing bad food in quantity and quality.
Moreover, some detainees were beaten during arrest in a barbaric way, besides filming them by soldiers and share their videos on Tiktok App.
The commission stated that the majority of detainees testified that the soldiers have destroyed their belongings during breaking into their houses, and frightened the residences with dogs, especially children.
Returning the Jordanian detainee Abdulalh Abu Jaber to Negev Prison, noting that he was supposed to be released yesterday after serving 21 years in prison, under the pretext that the documents of handing him over to Jordan are incomplete, and this process may take several days.
The Commission of Detainees' Affairs called on human rights organizations and legal institutions, especially the International Committee of the Red Cross, to force the administration of Megiddo prison to accept the detainees' demands on having clothes and blankets and other daily needs.
The Commission revealed that prisons' administration exploits the coronavirus pandemic to suppress detainees by making their lives more difficult through depriving them of obtaining their necessary stuff which was done by family visits. However, family visits were suspended by the occupation authorities under the pretext of health situations.
The commission stated that the Red Cross shall fulfill its commitments and intervene immediately to allow detainees obtaining their stuff such as clothes and blankets, especially in the light of the current political and medical conditions, which coincides with the fierce attack against the Palestinian people in the West Bank, Jerusalem and the occupied lands of 48.
The head of the Commission of Detainees' Affairs, MG Qadri Abu Baker called the international community and all its organizations to intervene immediately to end the revengeful racist attack carried out by the Israeli police against our people from the occupied lands of 48.
He considered that these acts represent a new phase of ethnic cleansing and forced deportation, where the Israeli political and militant levels cooperate with Israeli settlers to force the Palestinian residences to leave their houses.
Abu Baker stated that the Israeli occupation forces carried out an unprecedented campaign of arrests in the occupied lands of 48, where 1550 arrest cases have been recorded, in addition to 150 indictments which have been filed against them.
They got arrested under the pretext of their involvement in demonstrations protesting against the systematic Israeli policy of suppressing the Palestinian people, especially the incidents of Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, where there is a plan to expel Palestinians from their houses and gain control over them.
The head of the commission said "the racism of the occupation against our people in the occupied lands on 48 is represented in the frank threat that the next day will witness an unprecedented attack on all Palestinian cities and villages, and that there will be a campaign of arrests, which means that the occupation government had planned to commit this crime.
He also said that Benjamin Netanyahu and his right-wing government bear full responsibility regarding to the unstable situation in the coming days, and there will be no silence in front of these crimes.
The Commission stated in its documented statistics that the arrest cases among Palestinians since 1967 were about (1.000.000), including (17.000) cases against girls, women and mothers, and (50.000) cases against children. It is confirmed that the arrest process is accompanied with torture, where all those who experienced detention were subjected to physical or psychological torture and harsh treatment.
Regarding the policy of administrative detention, the commission pointed out that (54.000) administrative detention orders have been issued since June 1967.
(226) detainees have been martyred since June 1967, including (73) died due to torture, (71) due to medical ignorance, (75) due to deliberate murder and (7) due to shooting them inside the prison.
Moreover, hundreds of detainees died after releasing them due to diseases they got in prison caused by torture, medical ignorance and bad treatment.
The commission confirms that the Israeli occupation authorities depend on detention as a firm policy since occupying the rest of the Palestinian territories in June 1967, where detention became a constant behavior and main part of the Palestinians lives who still suffering from the detention and its consequences.
The Commission of Detainees' Affairs stated that the occupation authorities have escalated their attacks against Palestinian journalists, especially in the Shiekh Jarrah neighborhood in the occupied Jerusalem, which its residences are threatened to be evicted from their houses in favor of settlers.
Since the beginning of demonstrations protesting against the systematic Israeli policy of suppressing the Palestinians, especially in Jerusalem, the occupation forces obstruct the work of journalists and prevent them from exposing the crimes committed in Jerusalem.
The commission stated that the occupation forces' suppress for journalists is represented in summon, arrest, confiscating equipment and shooting them directly, in addition to storming headquarters and media institutions, confiscating their equipment and closing them.
Journalists also got detained, prevented from meeting their lawyers, deprived of family visits and sentenced to pay fines.
According to latest statistic, there are (18) journalists who are currently detained in Israeli prisons, after arresting the journalist Zaina Halawani and Wahbi Makkyeh, where they have been attacked in a brutal way.
The commission called on the international human rights organizations to send investigation committees in order to document the violations committed against media crews, and to hold the occupying state accountable for the its crimes
The Commission of Detainees' Affairs stated that the so-called "the Central Court" in Jerusalem decided to release 6 detainees from Jerusalem, who have been arrested during the fierce attack carried out by the occupation forces in the old town of Jerusalem, where they had a quarrel with settlers.
The commission pointed out that the department of legal affairs at the commission had submitted an appeal to the Central Court to release five guys from the Salaymeh family (Shaher, Muhammad Qasem, Ziyad, Muhammad Imad and Muhammad Ahmad), and Musaab Abu Farha. All of them are from the old town of Jerusalem.
