The number of martyrs from the Captive Movement rises to 235

The Commission of Detainees' Affairs calls for immediate action to stop murder crimes against detainees in Israeli prisons 10/2/2013 The Commission of Detainees' Affairs denounced the crime of murdering the detainee Ahmad Abu Ali, 48, from Yatta/ Hebron, who died this morning at Soroka hospital. The Commission called for immediate action to stop the series of murder, execution and medical crimes committed by the Israeli authorities against our detainees. Abu Baker stated that there should be a serious attitude to confront the Israeli racism and extremism. With the martyrdom of the detainee Ahmad Abu Ali, the number of martyrs from the Captive Movement has risen to (235), including (75) detainees who martyred due to medical ignorance, (80) due to deliberate killing, (73) due to torture and (7) after being shot with live bullets inside the prisons. It is worthy to mention that Abu Ali martyred this morning at Soroka hospital due to medical ignorance, where he was detained since 26/11/2012, and sentenced to 12 years. He is married and a father of 9, and he was detained lately at Naqab prison, and he was suffering from diabetes, hypertension and heart problems.

Occupation authorities issued 260 orders of administrative detention on January /2023   1/2/2023 The Commission of detainees stated that the occupation authorities issued 260 administrative detention orders last month against detainees. The Commission clarified in a report issued today that orders included (103) new orders and (157) extending orders ranging from 2 to 6 months. There are currently (860) administrative detainees held in ( Ofer, Naqab and Megiddo) prisons, including 7 minors and 2 women . The administrative detention is defined as an " arrest without charge or trial, where nor the detainee neither his lawyer are allowed to know the reason of arrest, which is based on the presence of a confidential file ".

* The administration of prisons isolated the representative of women detainees in Damoun prison, Yasmeen Abu Shaaban after attacking her, where they turned the rooms into cells and withdrew the electric appliances

* Women detainees rebeled and burnt the rooms, and the administration of prisons responded by spraying tear gas in women's sections and beat them.

* A state of tension prevailed in all prisons and today will be an escalation in struggle steps to respond to the incidents happened in women's sections.

* The administration of Ofer prison closed all sections, and the detainees returned their breakfast and asked to call women detainees to check on their conditions

 The Commission of Detainees' Affairs announced the martyrdom of the detainee Ahmad Abu Ali, 48, from Yatta/ Hebron, after a deterioration in his health condition at Naqab prison. He died this morning at Soroka hospital, and the administration of prisons closed all sections in prisons. It is worthy to mention that he is detained since 2012 and sentenced to 12 years. With his martyrdom, the number of Captive Movement martyrs has risen to 235.

All indicators in Israeli prisons warn of a complicated stage

The head of the Commission of Detainees' Affairs, Qadri Abu Baker, warned of the dangerous attitude of the extreme right wing of the Israeli government regarding taking revenge of our detainees.

Abu Baker stated " the new stage will be dangerous as a response of imposing new reality to target detainees".

He also said that we are following what is happening in prisons, where fears increased in the light of the attacks implemented by the administration of prisons.

Abu Baker called on human rights organisations and the committee of the Red Cross to intervene immediately to stop this extremism, which is increasing in way that expose the weakness of the international community in providing protection to our detainees in Israeli prisons.
