The Israeli authorities pursued the policy of torture and assault against our detainees since the beginning of the war, represented in isolating detainees, preventing phone calls and preventing family and lawyers visits in order to be able to violate their rights. For example, the Israeli special forces implemented an incursion to detainees rooms in 26/10/2023, and attacked them with intense beat, sound bombs and rubber bullets, leaving them bleeding without any medical assistance.

1. Prevent phone calls with families
2. IPS prevents lawyers from visiting detainees since the beginning of the war on Gaza

4. Confiscate electric appliances from section 5. Prevent using canteen
6. Confiscate food items from sections
7. Provide insufficient quantity of food
8. Separate minors from elderly detainees
9. Implement provocative inspections to detainees rooms
10. Turn detainees rooms into cells

November 6
The Commission of Detainees Affairs and the Palestinian Society Prisoner’s Club confirmed the martyrdom of the detainee Majed Zaqqul , 32, from Gaza in Ofer prison.
He is one of the workers that have been arrested after October 7 , where the Israeli authorities hide the news of his assassination during the past few days, until they announced the news through their media.
The martyr Zaqqul has moved to the West Bank three years ago and he was suffering from cancer. He was working in the lands occupied in 1948 since 6 months. He’s married and has a child, and his family lives in Gaza.
The Commission and the Prisoner’s Club reported in a joint statement, that the Israeli authorities have assassinated him without announcing the news immediately, but delayed the news of his martyrdom for two days, where they announced that two detainees have died, the first in Ofer prison and the other one in Atnaout military camp, without revealing their names. We could not be able to know the identity of the second martyr till now.
Accord to the terrible testimonies of Gazan workers who were released to Gaza, they confirmed that the martyr Zaqqul was subjected to a systematic assassination, such as the detainee Omar Daraghmeh and Arafat Hamdan, who martyred last month in Israeli prisons due to torture.
It is worth mentioning that the Israeli authorities still pursuing arrest campaigns against Gazan workers, and refused to give any information about their figures, identities, the places in which they are held ir their health conditions, in spite of the constant demands of detainees’ institutions to obtain accurate information about them.
With the martyrdom of the detainee Zaqqul, the number of the martyrs of the Captive Movement rises to (240) since 1967.
