Fascist practices in Ofer prison leads detainees to prefer death over life

The lawyer of the commission confirmed, after a visit to Ofer prison on July 24, 2024, that the administration of prison pursues its fierce campaign against detainees since last October, and invented new measures to crack down on detainees. In this context, we present the following information:
1. There are 7 attempts of suicide due to the bad detention conditions, the brutality of jailers, and targeting them by the policy of starvation and medical neglect 2. detainees are exposed to intense beat during arrest and in custody, especially if they are late or do not wake up on time (4:00 am). 3. one of the detainees had burns during taking shower, due to the extreme hot water. He did not receive medical care which forced him to use toothpaste on the burns. It is worth mentioning that the administration of prison controls the temperature of water remotely. 4. detainee Amro Abu Khalil suffers from cancer and is receiving chemotherapy. His treatment was canceled and he was subjected to intense beat and returned to prison. 5. detainee Basheer Zaghloul Qasem Khatib, 38, from Birzeit/ Ramallah, was exposed to harsh beat during arrest. He lost 12 kgs since his detention on February 18, 2023. 6. rooms of the canteen, laundry and counting were turned into cells 7. 11 detainees are held in the same room, 5 of them sleep on the ground and the rest sleep on iron beds. They lack the minimum life elements of clothes, blankets and food.

The Israeli authorities arrested (12) citizens from the West Bank last night , including a child. Detention cases were carried out in Hebron, Jenin, Bethlehem and Tubas, where arrests were accompanied by destruction to citizens houses.
Thereby , (3680)arrest cases have been recorded since October 7, including those who were arrested from their homes, checkpoints and others who surrendered themselves under threat and held as hostages.
The Israeli forces have arrested tens of Gazan workers from Bethlehem, Tulkarem and Nablus in the light of the mass aggression and genocide in Gaza.

The Commission of Detainees’ Affairs reveals the difficult and harsh conditions in which the isolated detainee Marah Bakeer lives
The commission of Detainees’ Affairs reported today’s evening that the Israeli Prison Service continued to isolate the women detainees representative Marah Bakeer, 23, from Jerusalem, where she was moved recently to the isolation of Al-jalamah prison after storming the section of women detainees at Damoun prison, using tear gas and brutal assault against them, within the frame of retaliatory attack against detainees in all Israeli prisons.
The Commission pointed out the Marah Bakeer informed her lawyer, Hanan Khatib , that she is held in a small and rotten cell, with no place to take shower. She is prevented from going to the prison’s yard and she is still in the same clothes since isolating her.
Marah stated that the cell have surveillance cameras, which violates her privacy. In addition, the bed cover is dirty and stinky, that does not protect her from the cold weather. She is also deprived of having medical checkups since her isolation.
The Commission indicated that Bakeer was arrested on October 12, 2015 , when she was only 16 years old, after shooting her by the Israeli soldiers in her way back from school. She is sentenced to 8 years and a fine of 10000 ILS.
Commission of Detainees’ Affairs publishes the details of detention and health conditions of detainee Tareq Abu Al-Rob

The Commission of Detainees’ Affairs stated in a report issued today that detainee Tareq Zeyad Abu Al-Rob, 23, from Qabatya/ Jenin, was shot in the abdomen during his arrest by special forces.
The commission’s lawyer quoted the detainee “the occupation’s forces invaded the house in 26/11/2023 and shot me with cold blood, I fell to the ground but they didn’t provide first aid and asked me to head towards them. They arrested me and transferred me to a hospital in Alkhdaira for one day, where I underwent a surgery in the urinary tract and a surgery in the intestines, I remained handcuffed to the bed, and then I was moved to Ramla prison, in which I remained 50 days. They didn’t provide me with medical care and gave me painkillers despite my severe pain”.
Abu Al-Rob was transferred to Megiddo prison in 16/1/2024, where he goes to the clinic on a regular basis and his health condition is stable.
He has a court hearing in 10/7/2024, and it is noteworthy that he is former detainee who spent two years in prison. His brother, Muhammad Abu Al- Rob is also a detainee who is sentenced to life imprisonment, detained since 2017 and currently held in Jelboa prison.

Brief on detention campaigns carried out by the Israeli occupation authorities Ramallah November 18, 2023 The Israeli authorities arrested (40) citizens from the West Bank last night. Arrests were concentrated in Hebron, which witnessed the highest rate of arrests since October 7. Detention campaigns were accompanied by torture, intense beat, threats to detainees and their families, and house vandalism. Thereby, (2850) arrest cases have been recorded since October 7, including those who were arrested from their homes, checkpoints and others who surrendered themselves under threat and held as hostages. The Commission and the prisoner’s club confirmed that the Israeli authorities pursued systematic detention campaigns as firm policy, which increased after the 7th of October, besides to the continuous field executions. * Data included detainees who still under arrest and released ones * Data includes approximate numbers due to the massive detention campaigns, and figures are subject to change
🔺️ The Commission of Detainees' Affairs reveals cases of deliberate medical ignorance against Palestinian detainees:
🔸️ Detainee Nathir Dar Ahmad, 21, from Ramallah, suffers from a difficult health situation, where he was injured with 25 live bullets during arrest. He has intense pain in the stomach and back, where he's unable to stand or walk. He needs a special kind of needle, but the administration of prisons give him painkillers to stop the pain temporarily.
🔸️Detainee Ahmad Kaabnah, 53, from Jericho: he suffers from prostate disease since 6 years and needs an urgent surgery, but the administration of prisons keeps procrastinating in his treatment.
He is detained since 26 years and sentenced to life imprisonment.
🔸️Detainee Sameer Abu Ne'meh, 63, from Jerusalem:
He suffers from difficult health situation due to the harsh conditions of detention and interrogation, besides to the deliberate medical ignorance to his case, where he has pain in his right arm due to torture and beating during interrogation. He also suffers from intense pain in his backbone, and shoulder tendon rupture.
He is detained before the Oslo Accord in 1986 and sentenced to life imprisonment.
