Latest news on the cause of detainees on hunger strike
The Commission of Detainees' Affairs stated that the detainee Ahmad Hamamreh from Bethlehem, who is detained since 17/8/2020, started a hunger strike since 3 days, protesting against his administrative detention. The court refused the plea of him, and he is currently held at Negev prison.
According to the family of the detainee Husam Rabaei from Hebron, Husam has ended his strike, after turning his administrative detention into a lawsuit.
It is worthy to mention that besides to Hamamreh, there are 16 detainees who are on hunger strike against their administrative detention, such as the detainee Salem Zedat from Hebron who started his strike since 22 days, Muhammad Imar from Tulkarem/ 20 days, Mujahed Hamed from Ramallah/ 20 days, Kayed Fasfous, Mahmoud Fasfous, Raafat Daraweesh and Jevara Namoura from Hebron/19 days, Maher Dlayasheh and from Ramllah/ 14 days, and the detainees Ahmad Abu Sel, Muhammad Abu Sel and Fadi Imour from Hebron and Ahmad Nazzal from Jenin / 13 days.
The detainee Meqdad Qawasmeh is on hunger strike since 12 days, where his health condition is getting worse and he has pain in the kidney. The detainee Muhammad Nuwara is striking since 9 days, protesting against his solitary confinement.
The detainee Yousef Amer started a hunger strike since 5 days, protesting against his administrative detention, where the number of striking detainees is likely to increase in the coming days.
