August 20, 2024

🔴 The Commission of Detainees’ Affairs stated that the occupation authorities use excessive force and torture against Palestinians during arrest, and that the international and humanitarian organizations failed to provide protection for them.
- The Commission documented the extent of violations practiced against detainees in Israeli prisons, through a visitation managed to Ofer prison, in terms of ill-treatment, poor food, lack of medical care and many other penalties.

🔴 The Commission discloses the inhumane conditions experienced by women detainees held in Damoun prison, which are imposed on them in accordance with the escalation policy began last October.
- the commission stated that 84 women are held in narrow sections, with high temperature and humidity.

🔴 The commission confirmed that the majority of detainees have lost weight during the past ten months, where each detainee lost 20 kgs at least, due to the continuous policy of starvation.
- cases in point:
Detainees Abdulsamad Ishtaya, Bajes Barghouthi, Ahmad Jarabaa, and Muhammad Dar Aldeek, where all of them have been subjected to torture, intense beat and medical neglect.
