*The Israeli authorities extend the detention of journalist Rasha Herzallah until 24/6/2024 and lawyer Nida Zghaibi for 8 days*

June 10, 2024

Ramallah- The military court of the occupation in Salem extended the detention of journalist Rasha Herzallah, 39, from Nablus until 24/6/2024, and the lawyer Nida Zghaibi, 37, from Jenin for 8 days. They are charged with incitement on social media, as called by the occupation authorities.
The Israeli intelligence service had summoned journalist Rasha Herzallah for interrogation on June 2, at Huwara detention center, and her detention was extended then. Regarding lawyer Zghaibi, she was arrested on June 5. She’s the wife of detainee Muhammad Taher Zghaibi, and a mother of three children.
It is worth mentioning that there are (74) women detainees held in Israeli prisons, the majority of them are held in Damoun prison. Some of them have been charged with incitement on social media, which was one of the most prominent pretexts used by the occupation authorities after October 7. Those who could not be charged with incitement were transferred to administrative detention.
