Fares greets the US State Department call to comply with the disciplines of International Law

March 28/ 2024

The head of the Commission of Detainees’ Affairs, Qaddura Fares, greeted the United States on its rejectionist attitude towards the Israeli violations and abusive measures against Palestinian detainees, and also greeted the call issued by the US State Department on the necessity of obliging Israel to adhere to the disciplines of International Law, in terms of the life conditions of detainees, guarantee a decent life for them, and investigate the violations committed against detainees, especially the leader detainee Marwan Barghouthi.

Fares emphasized on the importance of developing the American and European attitudes, especially regarding the crimes committed by Israel such as the policy of forcible hide practiced against detainees of Gaza, in order to put pressure on Israel to stop the series of crimes against detainees, which led to the martyrdom of 14 detainees since the beginning of war.

Fares pointed out that these crimes would not last for 6 months unless the presence of this fascist government, in which the terrorist Itamar Ben Gvir serves as a minister of National Security, in addition to the international silence and the unconcern of the influential states in the world.

Palestinian detainees in Israeli prisons are living difficult conditions since the beginning of war, as Israel took measures to take revenge of the Captive Movement by torturing detainees, isolating them from the outside world, preventing family and lawyers visits, and committing crimes against humanity, as well as imposing retaliatory sanctions against them.
