The Commission of Detainees’ Affairs publishes the details of rearresting the released detainee Walaa Tanja
The Commission of Detainees’ Affairs declared, based on the advocate’s visit to Damoun prison, that the Israeli forces rearrested Walaa Tanja, 28, from Nablus, who was released by the last exchange deal (Gaza War) , after spending a year and half in Israeli prisons. The advocate quoted the detainee: “I got arrested by special forces while I was in my way back from Nablus to Tulkarem with my cousin in 12/3/2024. . They attacked us and pointed their guns at us, and they were shouting “terrorist”. The commander of Nablus area said ‘you came to me before, today you will come with me to prison to see your brother’. Then, they handcuffed and blindfolded us and took us to a military camp, and left us in the yard of the camp in the cold weather until 5:00 am”. Afterwards, Walaa has been transferred to a cell in Sharon prison until 10:00 pm, and then to Damoun prison where she was exposed to stripped search. She confirmed that she remained fasting for two days before getting to Damoun prison. It is worth mentioning that she is the daughter of the martyr Latifa Abu Draa’, who martyred in 2018, after spending 8 years in prison, as she was released by an exchange deal in 2011.
