A new hearing to be held on Tuesday to complete the adjudication in the case of the martyrdom of detainees Daraghmeh and Maree

The Commission of Detainees’ Affairs and the Palestinian Society Prisoner’s Club confirm the instances on opening an investigation as part of exerting pressure to end torture against detainees

The Commission of Detainees’ Affairs and the Palestinian Society Prisoner’s Club stated that the Israeli court in Alkhdaira decided to hold a hearing on Tuesday to complete the adjudication in the case of the martyrdom of detainees Omar Daraghmeh from Tubas who martyred in 32/10/2023, and Abdulrahman Maree from Salfit who martyred in 13/11/2023.

The Commission and the Club emphasized that the decision to hold a hearing session came within the frame of legal efforts to conduct an investigation into the conditions of the martyrdom of detainees in Israeli prisons after the 7th of October, including Daraghmeh and Maree.

In this context, the Commission and the Club affirmed that the endeavors to open an investigation into their martyrdom conditions does not mean that we are awaiting (Justice) from the occupation’s courts, but rather came within figuring out a way to put an end to torture attacks which has unprecedentedly increased against detainees.

The Commission and the Club asserted that our narrative, as organization working on detainees issues, confirms that the occupation authorities have assassinated them in a systematic manner through torture. It is indicated that Maree and Daraghmeh are among 6 detainees who have died in Israeli prisons after the 7th of October: (Arafat Hamdan from Ramallah, Majed Zaqqul from Gaza, Thaer Abu Asab from Qalqilia and the fourth detainee still unrecognized).

It is worth mentioning that occupation’s media had revealed information indicating the martyrdom of two detainees from Gaza at Sadeh Timan military camp in Beersheba, where the Israeli authorities still refuse to reveal any information on the fate of Gazan detainees.
