Palestinian detainees suffer from the crime of medical ignorance

 December 24, 2023

🔺The IPS tightens measures against detainees in the clinic of Alramla prison
🔺The Commission of Detainees’ Affairs stated that 14 sick detainees are held at the clinic of Alramla prison, suffering from chronic diseases, injuries with live bullets and cancer, and some of them are disabled, where they are detained in dire conditions and subjected to medical violations.
🔺The commission called on human rights organizations to take urgent measures to stop medical violations practiced against Palestinian detainees in Israeli prisons and grant them the rights guaranteed by international agreements and charters being detainees of Liberation Movements.
🔺The Israeli authorities are detaining more than 800 sick persons, including 250 detainees who suffer from cancer.
🔺The commission stated that the detainee Abdulhakeem Rabea, 30, from Bain Anan/ Jerusalem, suffers from heart disease, and was subjected to torture and deprived of his medication since two months.
🔺Detainee Abdulhakeem was exposed to intense beat during arrest, where he got injuries in the forehead and the back. He remained 6 days in Itzion interrogation center, where he was subjected to harsh attacks , and then transferred to Ofer prison by Nahahon special forces. He suffers from heart problems since 5 years and needs special medication and medical attention. However, tge IPS still depriving him of medication, which confirms that the Israeli authorities intended to ignore the health conditions of sick detainees by pursuing the policy of slow killing against them.
