The Commission of Detainees’ Affairs warned of breaching the conditions of the exchange deal by chasing the detainee Fadwa Hamadah from Jerusalem.
The Commission stated that the Israeli authorities held a trial in absentia to the detainee Hamadah in the Magistrate Court of Haifa, where the judge decided to hold a session in her presence, accompanied by her lawyer.
The Commission confirmed that Hamadah’s summon came under the claim that she committed breaches during her detention against the IPS and its officers, and that she has to be held accountable, without taking into consideration that she was liberated by an exchange deal.
The commission emphasized that what happened in the magistrate court of the occupation poses a legal dilemma to the detainee Hamadah and all liberated detainees by the deal, where this revealed that their cases are still opened in the Israeli courts.
The Commission called on the Palestinian Resistance and the mediators who supervise the exchange deal, especially Egypt and Qatar , to take serious action to this incident and compel Israel to adhere to the conditions of the deal and never chase liberated persons.
It is worth mentioning that the detainee Fadwa Hamadah, 35, from Sour Baher/ Jerusalem, has been arrested in 2017 and sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment, in addition to a fine of 30.000 ILS, where she was liberated in the last exchange deal between Israel and the Palestinian Resistance.
