Continuous restrictions against Palestinian detainees in Israeli prisons

 December 5, 2023

The Commission of Detainees’ Affairs stated that the Israeli authorities turned the prisoners into cemeteries with the increasing attacks against detainees since October 7, amid a blackout to uncover the crimes committed against them in its prisons.

The Commission said that sections in prisons are subjected to continuous invasions, accompanied by intensive beating and attacks by tear gas and rubber bullets.

Moreover, Israeli jailers tend to beat detainees in brutal way and leave them deliberately without medical aid.

The Commission stated that detainees are subjected to several kinds of penalties, such as rooms without closed windows, where detainees suffer a lot from the cold weather and the lack of covers, in addition to a lack of food.

They sleep at the ground and they are prevented from going outside to the prison’s yard, in addition, the jailers confiscated private belongings amd electrical appliances from detainees’ rooms.

There are currently 7800 detainees in Israeli prisons, including 166 children, 33 women and 2873 administrative detainees.
