The Commission of Detainees' Affairs stated, quoting advocate Hanan Khatib, in a visit to Damoun prison, "that female detainees are subjected to continuous violations by the administration of prison".

The advocate said,  quoting the minor detainee Nufouth Hammad, 15, from Jerusalem,  "that the situation in prison is very difficult, where the administration of prison imposed punishments against us, deprived us from doing handicrafts, prevented phone calls and violations, prevented us from using the canteen and closed the section for 13 days".

Detainee Hammad said  " I am deprived of having the high school exams, and I missed my school, especially that people started to get prepared to opening the academic year, I wished to be with my classmates, and I'll get back to school someday".

The Commission pointed out that the Israeli authorities pursued violating the rights of female detainees in investigation centers, without taking into account their needs and privacy.

It is worthy to mention that (31) female detainees are currently held in Israeli prisons.
