The Commission of Detainees' Affairs stated that the minor detainee Naseem Yahia Shabaneh, 15, from Essawyeh/ Jerusalem was subjected to violence and physical and psychological abuse by the Israeli occupation forces during the arrest and interrogation.

Special forces raided his house on March 1, 2023 at 5:00 am, inspected the house and destroyed its belongings. Then, they handcuffed, blindfolded and arrested him.

They took him to Almaskoubya interrogation center and kept him standing for two hours and he got beaten if he made any movement, but he did not confess guilt.

He remained 25 days at Almaskoubya, and got interrogated 5 times, in which he was subjected to intensive beat, and then he was transferred to minors' section at Megiddo prison.

The advocate of the Commission, Hiba Ighbarya, stated quoting Naseem "the conditions of minor detainees in Almaskoubya is very difficult, where they are subjected to beat without any reason, and when I was there, the jailer beat me up with other detainees because we asked for food"

It is worthy to mention that Naseem has not been sentenced yet, and he will appear before the court today.
