The commission of detainees stated that nine detainees are continuing their hunger strike, protesting against their administrative detention, while the prison service practice pressure against detainees to prevent them from continuing their hunger strike by transferring the detainees between prisons and detention cells, in addition of preventing the lawyers from visiting the detainees.
The commission also stated that the strikers detainees include: the detainee Salem Zedat who is on hunger strike since (37) days and the detainee Mujahed Hamed since (35) days, at Ramlah prison.
Moreover, the detainees kayed Al Fasfous since (34) days at Asqalan prison ,Rafat Darwesh since (27) days at “Ohli kdar “ prison , Miqdad Qawasmi since (27) days at Ofar prison ,Yousef ALamer since (20) days at Negev prison ,Ahmad Mahamra since (18) days at Negev prison ,Akram Fasfous since ( 13) days at Remon prison and last but not least, Alaa Arraj since (9) days .
The commission stated that the government of occupation and prison services should hold full responsibility on the lives of detainees on hunger strike and their deteriorating health conditions.

Detainees in the darkness of prison are subjected to intentional medical ignorance by the prison's service, where some of them have chronic and dangerous diseases without any medical supervision worsen their health conditions, in the light of violating international charters by prison's service, which stipulate on the necessity of providing detainees with the appropriate medical care.
The commission stated that there is a group of detainees that are under intentional medical ignorance, such as: Wadah Bizra from Nablus, who is sentenced to life imprisonment and fifty years and detained in Jelboa prison, where he suffers from abdominal pain and vomits anything he eats, and he needs urgent medical care.
Another detainee Emad Ikmail (55) years old from Jenin is suffering from respiratory obstruction and he needs an urgent operation. He also suffers from problems in the abdomen and Urinary tract. Ikmail threatens to go on a hunger stick in case he was not provided with medical treatment.
The commission of detainee’s stated that Israeli prison service holds full responsibly due to using the policy of medical ignorance against the Palestinian detainees, calling on international organizations, human rights organizations and the Red Cross to be obliged to its commitments towards the cause of detainees.

The head of the Commission of Detainees' Affairs MG.Qadri Abu Baker assured that the situation inside the prisons is unbearable, and that the break-ins and attacks on detainees are increasing, the last of which is the violent break-in of section (16) at Ofar prison.
Abu Baker expressed his deep concerns towards the prison’s policy in targeting the stability of the daily life of detainees, which is proceeding within a systematic plan supported by the highest political and military parties in the occupation's government.
- Qadri Abu Baker called on the international community to end the attack against detainees immediately, and to hold Israel accountable for its crimes and its violations of international laws, conventions and treaties.
Abu Baker's statements came during honoring the detainees Ramez Rimawi and Nour Abu Rjeleh.

The Israeli occupation authorities continue to use the policy of administrative detention against Palestinian detainees, where the Commission of detainees stated that 89 orders of administrative detention have been issued on July, including 38 new orders and 60 renewal orders.
The Commission pointed out that the Israeli military laws related to the orders of administrative detention are based on the mandatory emergency law of 1954, and that Israel still applying it on the Palestinian detainees, breaching all the international laws and norms. However, the number of administrative detainees in Israeli prisons is nearly 540.
The Commission denounced the harsh policies implemented by Israel against our detainees, which have been used as a collective punishment for detainees and their families.

The Commission of Detainees' Affairs stated that the detainee Ahmad Hamamreh from Bethlehem, who is detained since 17/8/2020, started a hunger strike since 3 days, protesting against his administrative detention. The court refused the plea of him, and he is currently held at Negev prison.
According to the family of the detainee Husam Rabaei from Hebron, Husam has ended his strike, after turning his administrative detention into a lawsuit.
It is worthy to mention that besides to Hamamreh, there are 16 detainees who are on hunger strike against their administrative detention, such as the detainee Salem Zedat from Hebron who started his strike since 22 days, Muhammad Imar from Tulkarem/ 20 days, Mujahed Hamed from Ramallah/ 20 days, Kayed Fasfous, Mahmoud Fasfous, Raafat Daraweesh and Jevara Namoura from Hebron/19 days, Maher Dlayasheh and from Ramllah/ 14 days, and the detainees Ahmad Abu Sel, Muhammad Abu Sel and Fadi Imour from Hebron and Ahmad Nazzal from Jenin / 13 days.
The detainee Meqdad Qawasmeh is on hunger strike since 12 days, where his health condition is getting worse and he has pain in the kidney. The detainee Muhammad Nuwara is striking since 9 days, protesting against his solitary confinement.
The detainee Yousef Amer started a hunger strike since 5 days, protesting against his administrative detention, where the number of striking detainees is likely to increase in the coming days.

The Commission of Detainees' Affairs stated that the Israeli Special Forces stormed section (3) of Ashkelon prison, and did some inspections and destroyed their properties.
It is reported that the Israeli forces abused the detainees and messed with the cantina and their personal belongings, they also moved the detainee Mohammad nowara who is on a hunger strike from Ashkelon isolation to Beersheba isolation, where he was held in difficult and harsh conditions.
The Commission pointed out that section (3) of Ashkelon prison contains a lot of detainees with serious health conditions such as: Muwafq Erouq ,Mamduh Amro ,Shadi Musa, Authman Abu Kharaj and Yasser Abu Shukhdom .

The Commission of Detainees' Affairs denounced the continuous incursions and attacks against Palestinian detainees in Israeli prisons, which aim at destroying the stability of their daily life and undermining their resistance and determination.
The commission stated that the attack is continuous since many years, which increased remarkably in the last few months, the last of which was yesterday at Ashkelon Prison, where the Special Units (Yamam, Drour and Mitsada) broke into section (3), attacked and beat detainees and then moved them to another section.
The Commission called on the Human Rights organizations to stop these continuous crimes against our detainees, and end the silence that encourages Israel to go on in its revenge and enmity.

The head of the Commission of Detainees' Affairs MG. Qadri Abu Baker condemned the Israeli public piracy of the money of the Palestinian people, under the pretext of paying allowances of the families of martyrs and detainees.
Abu Baker expressed his anger towards the international community and its organizations which remained silent and watching the public robbery of this Palestinian right, represented by deducting more than (590.000.000) NIS, under the pretext that it is given to "terrorist".
He asked the international community publicly, is it terrorism to help these struggling families to attain the minimum elements of decent life? Or to deprive the detainee Khaleda Jarar of bidding farewell to her daughter Suha who passed away and buried without the presence of her mother.
Moreover, Abu Baker stated that we have many questions for the international community, and today we address the international embassies and consulates and the organizations of international community to stop the silence which offend the system and all its elements. It doesn’t make sense that Israel is still practicing its arrogance, hatred and criminality without holding them accountable.
He assured that serving our detainees and their families is not negotiable and it is guaranteed by international rules and laws.
Abu baker's statements came during his visit to many released detainees from Nablus who spent long years in jails, where he honored the detainees Wadah Edely and Fahed Hamael who spent 15, 13 years respectively.

The detainee Muneef Abu Atwan called on the international and local human rights organizations to force the Israeli authorities to release his nephew and save his life, who started his hunger-strike since 64 days protesting against his administrative detention. He also called on the Palestinian institutions to support Ghadanfar in his battle.
Muneef said to the lawyer of the commission during a visit at "Rimon" prison that he decided to inter a hunger strike in solidarity with his nephew last June, who is currently held at "Kaplan" hospital in a serious health condition.
He pointed out that the occupation authorities targeted his nephew on purpose after 40 days of his strike, where he was tortured and brutally attacked by the Israeli jailors. Besides, the Israeli prison's administration purposely ignored his health condition which led to the deterioration and relapse of his situation.
He also added that the decision of freezing the administrative detention issued against Ghadanfar is an attempt to end his strike without attaining his demand to suspend the arbitrary administrative detention. Moreover, he pointed out the freezing decision means firstly: that the prisons' administration and the Israeli "intelligence device" are not responsible for his nephew's fate, and secondly: turning him to an unofficial detainee in the hospital, where he will stay under the supervision of hospital's security instead of the jailors' supervision.
It is worthy to note that the detainee Abu Antwan, 50, is from Durah/ Hebron, detained since 2002 and sentenced to (5) life imprisonment in addition to (40) years. He is married and a father of two daughters.

The Commission of Detainees' Affairs denounced the detention of the executive director of the Health Work Committees Shatha Odeh, from her house at Ein Musbah neighborhood in Ramallah.
The Commission stated that the Israeli occupation forces had stormed the headquarter of the Health Work Committees institution last month and closed the main door of the institution, posted a military order on the door stating that the closure will be for 6 months, and prevented the employees from entering their offices.
The Commission pointed out that the occupation authorities are targeting this institution since its establishment, where many of its employees have been arrested.

The Commission of Detainees' Affairs denounced the acts of suppression and attacks committed against the detainees of Ofer prison by "YAMAZ and DROUR" Special Forces.
The commission stated that "YAMAZ" Special Forces and another unit from the prison stormed section (21) and attacked its detainees and destroyed their belongings, and then moved them to section (18), which created a state of tension and irritation among detainees.
Moreover, the incursion was carried out without any justification, and the Special Forces intended to provoke the detainees on purpose, where they damaged the detainees' belongings and stuff.
The Commission said that the occupation authorities hold full responsibility on the incidents of Ofer prison and called on the international human rights organizations to intervene and stop the Israeli crimes against Palestinian detainees.
It is noteworthy that (120) detainees are currently held at section (21), which includes the highest number of Ofer's detainees.

The Head of the Commission of Detainees' Affairs, MG. Qadri Abu Baker warns from the dangerous health condition of the detainee Abu Atwan (28), who is on hunger strike since two months, in a protest against his administrative detention.
Abu Baker stated that the detainee suffers from numbness and fluid loss, which may cause damage in the functions of his organs. He might be paralyzed or becomes a martyr at any time due to the recurrent relapse and coma.
Moreover, Abu Baker pointed out that the Israeli occupation still deal with the case of Abu Atwan with carelessness and do not provide any actual solution. They seek to ignore his health condition and let him die, preventing him from attaining his demands of ending his administrative detention.
Abu Bakr held the occupation fully responsible for the life of the captive Abu Atwan, and called on the international community and international institutions to practice pressure against the Israeli authorities to immediately release him and save his life before it is too late, and called on the Palestinian people for continuous solidarity with him until victory is achieved.
It is noteworthy that the occupation authorities issued a decision to freeze the administrative detention of the detainee Ghadanfar Abu Antwan, who was arrested on October 2020, and announced his hunger strike 61 days ago, but the occupation authorities keep him detained inside the Israeli "Kaplan" hospital.

The head of the commission of detainees' Affairs Major General Qadri Abu Bakr, warned about the dangerous and alarming deterioration of health conditions for the hunger-striking detainees, Ghadanfar Abu Atwan, (28), and the sick detainee, Iyad Hrebt, (39), both from Dura, south of Hebron.
During his visit, Abu Bakr and a delegation from the commission to the tent of solidarity with the detainees Abu Atwan and Hrebat ,stated that the health condition of Abu Atwan is deteriorating seriously and there is a actual concern that he might lose his life or might have failure in his organs amid a state of raciest Israeli stubbornness and the silence of international community.
He added there is a real concern that Abu Atwan might have a heart failure due to the continues strike since (57) days and restraining from taking supplements and that suffers from severe weight loss, weakness in his heart beats, severe chest ,joints and waist pain, suffocation attacks and recurrent coma.
He also pointed out that the detainee Iyad Hrebat from Hebron, who has been arrested since 2002 )and sentenced to life imprisonment, a crime of medical ignorance was committed against him after the suspicion of giving him contamination injection which caused bacterial spread in his body in( 2014).
Besides, he was spared with toxic gas which caused burns in his body during an attack against detainees at the Remon prison,
Then he was diagnosed with neurological disease which caused shivering, speech problems, movement problems and temporary memory loss.
However, the occupation authorities did not provide the appropriate medical treatment under the policy of slow and deliberate murder, which is practiced against Palestinian detainees.
Abu Baker called on the international community and the international humanitarian and human rights organizations to stop the slow murder of both detainees Abu Atwan and Hrebat before it is too late.

RAMALLAH 6/29/2021 Wafa - Dozens of citizens participated in the weekly sit-in in front of the headquarters of the International Committee of the Red Cross in the city of Al-BEERA attribution to the striking and sick detainees in the Israeli occupation prisons.
Pictures of sick and detainees on hunger strike were carried by the participants in the sit-in calling for immediate action to release sick prisoners and to end the policy of administrative detention.
Fatah movement, the Commission of Detainees' Affairs, the Supreme commission of detainees affairs and the Palestinian' Society prisoner's club each of them called to organize the stand In support of the demand of the detainees (Ghdanfar Abu Atwan), who has been on a hunger strike for 56 days in protest against administrative detention, and the sick prisoner (Eyed Haribat) and the rest of the sick detainees in the occupation prisons who are subjected to continuous medical crimes.
The head of the Commission of Detainees' Affairs, (Qadri Abu Bakr), confirmed that the critical health condition of the detainee, (Ghadanfar Abu Atwan) is a result of his hunger about two months ago, which requires urgent intervention from the international community and international human rights institutions, in order to compel the Israeli authorities to drop the administrative detention on him.
He added to "Wafa", that the Supreme Occupation Court issued a decision last Thursday to freeze the administrative detention order against the detainee (Abu Atwan), at the request of the Military Prosecution, According to medical reports issued by the Israeli "Kaplan" hospital, which indicate that there is a real danger to the detainee's life.
He also pointed out that the decision to freeze the administrative detention constitutes a circumvention of the demands of Ghadanfar, who fought the battle of the" empty intestines" in pursuit of freedom, The freezing enables the occupation authorities and the military governor to restore the administrative sentence to the prisoner after his hunger strike was ended, his health condition improved, and he was released from the hospital.
Abu Baker referred to a meeting held with ambassadors, diplomats and representatives of foreign countries, in which the commission called for a national intervention to force Israel release the detainees who are on hunger strike, in addition to sick detainees, including Iyad Hrebat and Muwafaq Erouq.
The detainee Hrebat in currently held at Soroka Hospital in bad health condition, where he suffers from bacteria in his body and weakness in the lung. He was subjected to medical ignorance since he got problems in the nerves after arresting him in 2002.
Another case in point is the detainee Muwafaq Erouq (78 years). He has a difficult health condition and he is currently held at Ashkelon prison. He has cancer in the liver and stomach, and also he has problems in the lungs and vomits every day, in addition to the continuous fatigue and pains all over his body.

The head of the Commission of Detainees' Affairs Qadri Abu Baker, the deputy head of the Palestinian Society Prisoner's Club Abdullah Zghari, the head of Hureyyat Center of Civil Rights Hemli Aaraj and the head of the Supreme Commission of Detainees' Affairs Amin Shouman called on the International Community to intervene and save the lives pf detainees on hunger strike. The also called to confront the arbitrary and illegal Israeli policies and crimes against detainees, prevent Israel from breaching the international law, provide protection for detainees and allow an international investigation committee to work from inside the prisons.
These demands were discussed during a meeting organized by detainees' institutions in cooperation with the PLO Negotiations Affairs Department, where the participants informed the international parties about the serious conditions lived by detainees and the crimes and violations committed against them recently.
Participants reviewed the most prominent racist policies exercised by Israel, including the policy of torture, preventing visits, collective punishments, military courts, administrative detention, in addition to the issue of hunger strike, such as the case of the detainee Ghadanfar Abu Atwan and the crimes of medical ignorance, such as the case of Iyad Hrebat and Muwafaq Erouq.
Participants said Israel holds full responsibility on detainees' lives and called on international human rights organizations and members of international community to intervene and oblige Israel to implement the rules of the international law to guarantee all their rights.

The Commission of Detainees' Affairs stated that the Israeli occupation forces extended the detention of the injured detainee Muhammad Aranda from Nablus, for 8 days to complete the interrogation.
The commission pointed out that the detainee is currently held at Penselon hospital, and his health condition is stable.

The Commission of Detainees' Affairs stated that the prisons' administration provided the sick detainee Muhammad Barrash an expired medication, and he is currently held at Ashkelon prison.
Barrash told the lawyer of the commission that he discovered before two weeks that the prisons' administration had provided him with an expired medicine of cholesterol, and he informed the administration of Ashkelon prison, but in vain.
The commission pointed out that the detainee Barrash is one of the difficult medical cases in Israeli prisons, and giving him an expired medication will affect him and worsen his health condition, especially that he suffers from many chronic diseases and needs special care. Moreover, his left leg is amputated, his sight is very week, and he suffers from loss of hearing due to ulcers in his ears.
He needs an urgent surgery in his ears, and there is a defect in his lamb which needs a special examination. However, the administration of Ashkelon prison procrastinates in providing him the appropriate medical care.
It is worthy to mention that Barrash (44 years) is from Amaari camp/Ramallah, and he is detained since 2003 and sentenced to life imprisonment.

The Commission of Detainees' Affairs confirmed that three detainees in Israeli prisons, are still continuing their strike: Ghadanfar Abu Atwan, Jamal Taweel and Khader Adnan.
Abu Atwan is 28 years old, from Hebron. He is on hunger strike since 47 days against his administrative detention. He is held at Kaplan Hospital.
While the detainee Jamal Taweel (59 years) from Ramallah, is continuing his strike since 18 days, demanding the freedom of his daughter Bushra Taweel, who is held under administrative detention. He is currently held at Hasharon Prison.
The detainee Khader Adnan (43 years) from Jenin, is on the 22nd day of hunger strike, protesting against his administrative detention. He is currently held at Jalameh detention center.
The Head of the commission stated that the occupation authorities hold full responsibility on the lives of detainees and their fate, and called on the necessity of supporting their struggle against the occupation.

The Head of the Commission of Detainees' Affairs, M.G Qadri Abu Baker, said the Palestinian detainee has a powerful determination which can conquer the oppressive Israeli procedures, and that the hunger strike conveys several messages to the occupation, the most important of which is that the Palestinian determination creates freedom.
Abu Baker confirmed that 7 detainees have stopped their hunger strike after 18 days of strike, and they are: Amro Shami and Yousef Amer from Jenin camp, who entered the strike protesting against their administrative detention. They had an agreement with the prisons' administration to determine the period of their detention. There are 4 detainees who entered a strike in solidarity with their colleagues; Aysar Amer, Ibrahim Amer, Ammar Turkman and Abdulrahman Salah.
Abu Baker stated "this collective struggling spirit of the Palestinian detainees has defeated all kinds of Israeli arrogance and its arbitrary policies".
Moreover, he pointed out that there are 3 detainees still on hunger strike, protesting against their administrative detention: Ghadnfar Abu Atwan, Khader Adnan and Jamal taweel.
Abu Baker stated that the arbitrary policy of administration detention has become a collective punishment to revenge the Palestinian People, where 200 orders of administrative detention have been issued last month, including 116 new orders.

Flagrant violations have been committed against detainees by the occupation authorities
Critical escalation of suppression and attacks has been implemented against the Palestinians by the Israeli occupation forces on May 2021, especially with the incidents of Al-Amoud Gate in Jerusalem in 13/4/2021. Occupation authorities started to prevent Palestinians from being existent in that area, in coincidence with the forcible displacement and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians in Shiekh Jarrah neighborhood.
The confrontation escalated and many attacks and suppression acts have been monitored, including a huge campaign of arrests which increased with the aggression on Gaza Strip that lasted for 11 days. These incidents pushed the Palestinians everywhere to protest and confront the policies of the occupation and its flagrant violations.
This is not the first time for the Palestinians to face such an escalation, attacks and systematic arrest cases, which were of the tools used to suppress and attempt of Palestinians to attain freedom and self-determination.
The years of 2015 constituted a turning point in detainees' cause, especially in the increasing number of detention cases. This phase witnessed many violations that were documented by many organizations, in addition to arresting journalists, activists and citizens who contributed in revealing these violations.
According to detainees' Institutions and Human Rights Organizations (the Commission of Detainees and Ex-detainees' Affairs, the Palestinian Society Prisoner's Club, Al Dameer Association for Human Rights and Wadi Hilweh Information Center) pointed out that the Israeli authorities have arrested 3100 Palestinians on May 2021 from different cities, the highest of which was the occupied lands of 48 with (2000) detention cases, including (291) children.
Detention cases were accompanied by flagrant violations against detainees and their families, where (170) indictments have been filed against detainees, and the charge was participating in demonstrations that refuse the policies of the occupation.
Occupation's devices and Israeli settlers contributed in the intimidation of Palestinians, through storming their houses, destroying their belongings, shooting them with live ammunition and rubber bullets, in addition to the physical attack against them.
As a result of the incidents in the occupied lands of 48, a huge campaign of arrests was implemented in all cities, villages and camps in the West Bank. The institutions recorded (1100) arrest cases in the West Bank, including (180) minors, and (42) women, and the highest rate of arrest cases was in Jerusalem with (677) cases.
Moreover, the violations expanded to include candidates for the Legislative Council Elections, where (6) candidates have been arrested, in addition to two former representatives of the Legislative Council.
(200) orders of administrative detention have been issued, including (116) new orders.
There are (5300) Palestinian detainees who are currently held in Israeli prisons, including (40) women, (250) minors and (81) of them are from the occupied lands of 48, in addition to (520) administrative detainees.
The report reviews many central issues and violations which were implemented by the occupation authorities during the current confrontations, such as:
The occupied lands of 1948: forging facts and fabricating charges
The Israeli police arrested the journalist Raafat Abu Ayesh (27 years) from Negev, while doing his job in covering a stand for Palestinian students at Beersheba University, who were protesting against the attacks in Jerusalem. They were attacked by extremist Jews, who threatened to kill them. Ayesh said that they called the police to protect them, but the police arrested two of the Palestinian students.
He also said that he was attacked, beaten and arrested, and then they took him to Ashkelon interrogation center, where he remained for 3 days.
He was accused of attacking a settler and burning his car, in addition to joining a "terrorist faction". They released him after three days of investigations and reviewing the cameras.
Ayesh was subjected to many violations such as: fabricating charges against him, tying him to the chair, long hours of interrogation, meeting his lawyer on Zoom App, extending his arrest to five days and threatening him to destroy his life.
Chasing elections' candidates: undermining the role of politicians and activists
The occupation authorities have arrested the candidate of the Legislative Council elections, the former detainee Yousef Qazaz, after two months of releasing him in 21/3/2021. They stormed his house in Dura/ Hebron in 20/5/2021 and destroyed the door and the belongings of his house.
It is worthy to mention that he is a former detainee, who served 5 years in prison, including 18 months and other 24 months under the administrative detention. He suffers from several diseases and needs medication, but the occupation authorities did not allow him to take any medication.
Torturing children: 13-year-old children are under arrest
The Israeli forces arrested (180) minors from the West Bank on May 2020, where torture acts against children were documented by field researchers.
The Israeli forces arrested the child G. A while he was in a garden in Ramallah, near Beit Eil settlement, where a soldier attacked and beat him with his rifle on the head five times. Another soldier hit him on the pelvic area which caused a severe pain. In addition, they sprayed pepper gas in his right eye.
During his detention process, the Israeli forces tortured him and ordered him to lie on the ground and handcuffed him with plastic ties. They took him to Beit Eil militant camp and blindfolded his eyes, and then took him to Benjamin police station for 3 hours for interrogation.
They threw him out of the car and hit him on his neck and head, and then he found out that he is at Hezma/Jerusalem.
Maskoubya prison: a witness on torture crimes
The name of Maskouya prison became a witness, after the escalation acts implemented by the Israeli authorities, on tens of detainees who were subjected to physical and psychological torture.
Case in point: the detainee Jalal Jabareen (36 years) from Saer/ Hebron
Jabareen was arrested from his house in 14/5/2021, after forcing him to take off his clothes and search his house. They took him in a militant vehicle to Keryat Arba Settlement, and he was beaten all the way. They transferred him to an area near Itzion militant camp and continued the attack against him. He was then transferred to Itzion interrogation center and forced him to sign a paper that acquits the soldiers from attacking him, but he refused.
He said that he got transferred at the same day to Maskoubya interrogation center, where he was subjected to torture for ten days. They put him under interrogation for (38) hours continuously, and prevented him from sleep and eating proper food. He also was deprived of meeting his lawyer.
Mariam Afifi: detention and torture, and released without conditions
The occupation forces have arrested Mariam (26 years) in 8/5/2021 at 10:30 pm while she was at Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood. She saw the soldiers attacking a girl and she went to help her, and when the soldiers saw this they attacked and push her and tried to pull her hijab. Many soldiers attacked her and started to beat and kick her all over her body, and then they handcuffed and dragged her on the ground and transferred her to a police station, where she remained for the next day.
They transferred her again to Makoubya and put her in a cold cell, and when she asked to turn off the Ac they did not respond. Mariam said that she appeared before the court twice, and the prosecution asked to extend her detention, but the judge decided to release her after watching the video.
Jerusalem: duplicated confrontation
The occupation authorities continued the daily detention campaigns in Jerusalem on May 2021, in addition to storming houses in the city. (677) detention cases have been documented in Jerusalem, including (124) minors and (32) women. Field detention cases distributed to (117) cases from Al Aqsa Mosque and its gates, (79) cases from Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood and hundreds of cases in other towns.
(845) detention cases have been recorded in Jerusalem since April 2021, where some of the were released under the condition of exile, house arrest and paying guarantees, while others have been accused and still in prison.
Excessive force was used during detention process and transfer to police stations, where many detainees got injured by fractures in the hands, nose and chest. Tens of them were transferred to hospitals and others remained under arrest.
The detainees were accused with many charges such as: participation in confrontations, throw stones, raising the Palestinian flag, smashing surveillance cameras and attacking police officers and settlers.
The Israeli authorities issued a lot of deportation orders, where (270) orders have been issued to deport people from Al-Aqsa/ Jerusalem/ the old town, ranging from one week to six months.
Ahmad Abu Snaineh: lost his eye and arrested from the hospital
Ahmad Abu Snaineh (28 years) was injured with a rubber bullet in Al-Aqsa Mosque during the month of Ramdan, where he was transferred to hospital, and after two weeks the Israeli forces arrested him from inside the hospital.
Abu Snaineh said: "my eye dropped in front of me and I lost my conciseness, and then I was taken to hospital in serious health condition due to fractures in the skull and then I had many surgeries in the eye, head and abdomen".
"In 27/5/2021, a nurse informed me that I will be discharged from hospital, and then the Intelligence forces stormed the room and arrested me".
Abu Snaineh explained that he was transferred to a detention center and remained for 6 hours despite his fatigue, and then he has been released and turned to house arrest for 4 days, under the condition of getting back to the interrogation. He went in 30/5/2021 to the interrogation and remained long hours under the sun and hot weather, and then he has been released and sentenced to house arrest for one day.
Cancellation of health insurance
The Israeli authorities have cancelled 19 health insurances for detainees and their families from Jerusalem as a means of collective punishment without informing them and without any warning or legal cause. This procedure targeted former detainees who were deported from Jerusalem, Aqsa mosque and the west bank, and restricted their bank accounts. They claimed that they cancelled the insurance because of "residency outside Jerusalem".
Collective punishments: the villages of Turmosayya and Aqraba
The villages of Turmosayya and Aqraba witnessed many attacks on May 2021 after an operation of shooting Israeli soldiers at Zatara checkpoint/ Nablus. (9) Citizens from Aqraba and (5) from Turmosayya have been arrested.
The wife of the detainee Lafi Shalabi said that an Israeli Special Forces stormed the village of Turmoayya at 3:00 am and broke into their house and arrested her husband in 5/5/2021, where they broke the door and attacked their 16-year-old child. Then, they took her husband to another room and interrogated him and prevented her from taking her medication, as she suffers from hypertension and she was infected with Covid19.
Another case in point is the village of Aqraba, where the Israeli army and Special Forces stormed the village and prevented its people from moving and closed the area with military checkpoints. They also stormed many houses and destroyed their belongings.
Tens of injured persons
The Israeli forces used all kinds of weapons and torture methods against detainees, such as: beating, dragging, using wastewater, using sound bombs, and shooting them with live ammunition and rubber bullets.
A case in point is the injured detainee Fadi Daraghmeh (18 years) from Tubas. He was shot in his knee at the checkpoint of Tayaseer, and then three soldiers started to beat him in a barbaric way and dragged him and took him to Affoula Hospital.
Serious data on the policy of administrative detention
The case of administrative detention witnessed a dangerous transformation, through the increase in the number of administrative detainees, where (200) orders of administrative detention have been issued on May 2021, including (11) orders against detainees from Jerusalem.
This data is a serious indicator which confirms that the Israeli authorities are widely resorting to this policy in a way that violates all restrictions imposed by international laws on using this kind of arbitrary detention.
The Israeli authorities aim at preventing any confrontation or change to attain self-determination by using the policy of administrative detention. The number of administrative detainees increased after the uprising in 1987 and 2000, while they issued (1248) orders of administrative detention since the popular uprising of 2015.
Over the past decades, the Israeli military courts were the main support for this policy, by implementing the orders of the Israeli Intelligence device.
Many detainees have entered a hunger strike in a protest against the administrative detention, where 4 detainees are still on hunger strike such as: Ghadanfar Abu Atwan (28 years) from Hebron, who is on hunger strike since 37 days, khader Adnan (43 years) from Jenin with (12) days of hunger strike, and the two detainees Omar Shami and Yousef Amer with (11) days of hunger strike.
