The Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees’ Affairs conveyed details about the health and detention conditions of the detainee Mazen Al-Qadi, 44, from Al-Bireh/Ramallah, who was transferred to Remonim prison’s isolation about a month ago.

The commission’s advocate who visited the detainee said that Al-Qadi suffers from inability to move two fingers in his right hand, due to nerve damage caused by the brutal attack he was exposed to by the wardens in Megiddo prison in 31/10/2023, in addition to injuries in his head where he took five stitches.

The attack was repeated against the detainee in 16/11/2024, as Nahshon Special Forces have beaten him on his injured hand, which led to reopen the wound. Al-Qadi confirmed the bad situation in Remonim prison’s isolation subordinate to the retaliatory penalties imposed on all prisons since October 7, as he lost 22 kgs of weight. Bearing in mind that Al-Qadi was arrested in 2002, and was interrogated in a brutal manner lasted for 50 days at Ashkelon detention center. After 21 months of detention, the Israeli occupation authorities sentenced him to 3 life imprisonment in addition to 25 years.
