The martyrdom of the detainee Naser Abu Hmaid due to the crime of medical ignorance
The Commission of Detainees' Affairs announced the martyrdom of the leader Naser Abu Hmaid, 50, from Amaari Camp/ Ramallah, at Assaf Harofeh Hospital, due to the policy of deliberate medical ignorance pursued by the prison service against sick detainees.
The Israeli authorities transferred Abu Hmaid from Ramla prison to Assaf Harofeh hospital after the deterioration of his health condition.
The Commission of Detainees' Affairs warned earlier if the martyrdom of Abu Hmaid at any moment.
It is worthy to mention that his health condition was getting worse since August 2021, where he started to suffer from pain in his chest , and he had a surgery to remove the tumour, and then he got transferred to Ashkelon prison. Then, he started chemotherapy, but the prisons service was delaying his treatment.
It must be stated that Naser Abu Hmaid was sentenced to (7) life imprisonment in addition to (50) years. He was arrested for the first time in the First Intifada in 1987 for 4 months, and then for two years. He got released and rearrested in 1990, and sentenced to life imprisonment and was released under negotiations.
He was rearrested later and sentenced to life imprisonment.
The head of the Commission of Detainees' Affairs, Qadri Abu Baker, holds the Israeli authorities responsible for the martyrdom of the detainee Naser Abu Hmaid, and he called on the world and international community to stop the Israeli massacre against Palestinian detainees.
