October 7 constituted a phase that imposed radical transformations on the conditions of detainees in Israeli prisons, regarding information related to this cause and at all levels in the light of the aggression against our people and detainees and the continuation of genocide in Gaza since more than 6 months respectively.
Throughout that phase, the occupation devises committed terrible crimes against detainees, which led to the martyrdom of 16 detainees due to systematic measures of torture, medical crimes, the policy of starvation and many other violations and assaults conducted against male and female detainees, minors and elderly detainees.
In addition to what has been announced on detainees who martyred, the cause of Gazan detainees came within the crime of forcible hide imposed by the occupation since the begging of war, as thousands of our people were subjected to detention during the ground invasion of Gaza. The occupation still refusing to give any information on detainees from Gaza who still under arrest on Israeli prisons and military camps.
There are many reports issued by the Israeli media, which revealed terrible information on the martyrdom of 27 detainees from Gaza, who died in the military camps, including Sadeh Timan camp.
Detainees’ Institutions documented tens of testimonies for detainees in prisons and liberated ones, reflect the cruelest conditions in the history of the Captive Movement, in terms of the level of torture, assaults and retaliatory measures imposed against detainees in Israeli prisons, which affected their fates.
*Statistics reflecting the escalation imposed since October 7*
Total number: more than 9500 detainees are currently held in Israeli prisons, excluding detainees from Gaza, who are detained under the “forcible hide”.
Women: (80) detainees, excluding detainees from Gaza.
Children: there are currently more than (200) minors under the age of 18, detained in (Meggido, Ofer and Damoun) prisons, including (24) children from Gaza held at Damoun.
Administrative detainees: (detainees held under the pretext of confidential file): more than (3660), including (22) women and more than (40) children. The majority of administrative detainees are former detainees who spent long years in prisons, in addition to other categories such as university and school students, journalists, lawyers, engineers, physicians, academics representatives and relatives of martyrs.
• Number of sick detainees in Israeli prisons raised since October 7, due to crimes and retaliatory measures imposed against them.
• Journalists: (56), including (45) arrested after October 7 and still under arrest, including (4) women.
• Members of legislative council: (17) members, the majority of them are held under the administrative detention, the oldest of whom are Marwan Barghouthi and Ahmad Saadat.
*Information on senior detainees and detainees who are sentenced to life imprisonment*
. With the martyrdom of the leader detainee Walid Daqqa on April 7, 2024, who was one of the senior detainees arrested before the Oslo Accords, the number of senior detainees became (21), the oldest of whom is detainee Mohammad Tous, who was arrested in 1985.
. In addition to (11) detainees who were arrested before the Oslo Accord and liberated by an exchange deal in 2011, and got rearrested in 2014, such as detainee Nael Barghouthi, who served the longest sentence in Israeli prison.
. In addition to detaining of the Aqsa uprising, as hundreds of them have served more than 21 years in prison.
. 600 detainees are sentenced to life imprisonment, the highest sentence is for detainee Abdullah Barghouthi, who is sentenced to life imprisonment for 67 times, then detainee Ibrahim Hamed, who is sentenced to life imprisonment for 54 times.

. The total number of Captive Movement martyrs raised to (252) since 1967, after the martyrdom of (16) detainees inside Israeli prisons.
