*The administration of Remon Prison ignores following up on patient detainees*

The members of the Legal Affairs Unit at the Commission of Detainees’ Affairs were able to visit the leader detainee Muhammad Tous in Remon prison, in addition to both detainees Murad Abu Alrub and Taher Saleh, who talked about their suffering and the plight of all detainees in the prison, especially patient detainees, whom the the administration of prison ignores their diseases and health conditions, practicing systematic crime against them by leaving them to be victims of illnesses and depriving them of medication.
The leader detainee Muhammad Tous, who is detained since 1985 and sentenced to life imprisonment, talked about the general situation in the prison and described it as bad as it possibly could, that he hasn’t witnessed since his detention forty years ago, as all types of penalties are imposed on them, afflicting the smallest details of their daily routine. Regarding his health condition, the legal team confirmed that his poor vision increased, as he had retinal problems two years ago and he was receiving medical treatment, but the prison’s administration suspended his treatment since the outbreak of the war, which led to a deterioration in his vision and he sees only at close range.
Detainee Murad Abu Alrub, who is sentenced to life imprisonment, emphasized that even the patient detainees with complicated health conditions were subjected to cruel penalties and get affected by racism, extremism and hatred. He pointed out that he exists in a room in which four detainees are using respirator devices: Khalil Baraqaa, Assaf Zahran, Assad Zourob and Samer Hashash. He also talked about the spread of skin diseases among detainees due to the deprivation of sanitizers and cleaning supplies, in addition to the lack of clothes and covers. Regarding his health condition, he was supposed to have a surgery in his nose, as he had fractures during his arrest, but he has been deprived of it because of the escalated procedures after the war.
Detainee Taher Saleh, who is sentenced to administrative detention since 4 years, talked about his serious health condition, as he felt unwell before two months and had severe headache and pain in the chest and lost consciousness, which led to a paralysis in the left side of his body. He got unable to move the jaw, arm and leg. He is also unable to walk or use the toilet, and currently he uses a wheelchair and gets assisted by detainees. He has memory problems and cognitive issues, and recently he was able to move his jaw after receiving nerve medication. Despite his serious health condition, he has not been transferred to hospital, noting that he was informed by the doctor of the prison’s clinic that he needed electrical stimulation to revive his nervous systems.
The commission warns of the escalation in the medical crimes which threaten the lives of hundreds of patient detainees, as the situation requires immediate international intervention. The commission stated that pursuing depriving patient detainees of medication and treatment put their lives in danger, especially that jailers lack the minimum fundamentals of humanity and take advantage of the outside incidents to increase aches, pains and diseases among detainees.
Police officers of Ofer prison deal with detainees without regulations

The Commission of Detainees’ Affairs stated that detainees in Ofer prison suffer from the guards’ mood swings , as torture and targeting are carried out without any regulations, and each police officer can attack detainees and impose penalties against them without any justification.
The advocate of the commission was able to visit detainees Ahmad Thawabta, Majd Hajjaj, Zeyad Taha, Alaa Jouda and Wisam Ali, where all of them confirmed that the prison’s administration is still dealing with them in a retaliatory manner. Thus, penalties, attacks, insults, deprivation, starvation and denial of the Palestinian humanity are still the same, so we are captives to the emotional instability of the guards.
The commission emphasized that the guards that have been summoned after the seventh of October have more brutality towards detainees, as they intend to harm them. They are gangs of teenagers, and that’s what detainees, who were liberated over the past weeks and months, have agreed upon.
The commission’s advocate conveyed the suffering of detainee Thawabta, as he has herniated disc that puts pressure on the nerves of his legs and cause severe pain, where he has not received any medication. Regarding detainee Taha, he was exposed to intense beat during arrest, causing fractures in the chest. He had a surgery in his leg before his detention and needs post- treatment care. However, the administration of prison ignored his case and he still has severe pains, and suffers from tooth loss due intense beat took place during his arrest. He was left untreated.
The administration of Ofer prison intended to determine the way of treating detainees on a daily basis, so that there is no indications of stability and detainees will remain anxious and worried, as attacks and incursions took place in different times, and there are obvious targets to affect their psychology and undermine their self esteem and dignity through cursing them using profanity.

The Commission of Detainees’ Affairs reported that the administration of Nafaha Prison intended to obstruct the advocates’ visits to detainees through procrastination in bringing them to the visit room and providing security pretexts, as the process takes more than one hour and a half for each detainee, which enabled the legal team of the commission to visit 4 detainees out of 8 over the past two days.
The commission said that the legal team was able to visit the detainees Kamal Abu Shanab from Jenin, Haitham Salhiya and Malik Hamed from Ramallah and Nael Najjar from Gaza, while they couldn’t visit Husam Shaheen, Alaa Bazyan, Sedqi Zarou and Nidal Zalloum, due to the complications imposed by the prison’s administration.
The commission emphasized that its advocates conveyed the plight of detainees and their difficult conditions, where detainees confirmed the continuation of the abusive procedures that started on October 7, represented in beating, cursing, starvation, isolation and ignoring sick detainees and depriving them of medication. They pointed out that the pace of prison’s administration measures goes up and down, but in general, the living conditions have not change much in cruelty since the first day of the war.
Detainees informed the legal team about the overcrowding in rooms and sections, which forced many of them to sleep on the ground, in the light of clothes and covers lack. Their rooms are empty, their weight decreased sharply and this is apparent on their bodies and features. They get transferred on a daily basis between rooms and sections, and during this process, they get exposed to beat, cursing and humiliation.
The Commission warns of the unethical and inhumane treatment of detainees in Nafaha Prison, especially that the majority of them are serving long-terms, life sentences and spent long years in prison. Detainees used sign language during the visit to express the seriousness of the situation and their living conditions, out of fear of exposing themselves to beat and torture after the visit, which actually happened to tens of them over the past few months.

On the occasion of the 76th memorial of the Palestinian Nakba, which comes this year in coincidence with the genocide ongoing since 222 days against our people in Gaza Strip, Detainees’ Institutions stated that the systematic detention operations practiced by the Israeli colonial regime constitute one of the most prominent forms of the constant Nakba against our people.
Detainees’ Institutions ( Commission of Detainees’ Affairs, the Palestinian Society Prisoner’s Club, Aaddameet Association for Human Rights) reported in a brief statement issued on the occasion of 76th memorial of the Palestinian Nakba, that the current stage is the most violent on the fate of detainees held in Israeli prisons historically, which is an extension of the occupation’s approach and its firm policies practiced over decades.
On this memorial, Detainees’ institutions confirmed that the history of systematic detention operations and holding our people in the colonial prisons started before the Nakba and the British mandate, which bequeathed laws and policies that the Israeli occupation is still using until today in consolidating the detention operations, that afflicted more than one million Palestinians.
Detainees’ institutions confirmed that the struggle of detainees over the past decades, and confronting all forms of torture and horrific crimes in the light of the genocide, reflects the determination of Palestinian people to attain freedom and self determination.
Moreover, Detainees’ institutions pointed out that more than 9300 Palestinian detainees are currently held in Israeli prisons, including 3400 administrative detainees, more than 80 women and more than 250 minors, noting that these information does not include detainees from Gaza Strip, who are held in military camps subordinates to the Israeli occupation army, due to the crime of forcible hide imposed on them since the date of genocide.

The head of the Commission of Detainees’ Affairs, Qaddura Fares, expressed his revulsion at the meanness and decadence apparent in the practices and tendencies of the Israeli government and its system, which constitutes a serious threat to the international community and its humanitarian and social components, not only through the crime committed against Palestinians, but also by the attitude and thoughts based on racism, hatred and retaliation. This is conducted by sharing roles between the military and political devices in all Palestinian areas on one hand, and the Israeli Mossad on another hand, which carried out executions on international and regional levels, pursues and threatens the people who support the Palestinian cause, focusing on the international solidarity in universities worldwide with the Palestinian cause.
Fares said: “We live in a state of anxiety and tension for our detainees, and we have fears of what they are exposed to inside Israeli prisons and detention centers, especially since October 7 until today, as the extent of crime established an unprecedented stage in the history of the Palestinian Captive Movement, and what is committed against them nowadays has not been practiced in any prison or detention center worldwide. The occupation was not content with this organized criminality, but uses its educational and social institutions to torture detainees through official courts’ resolutions “.
He added: “In many cases, the Israeli courts added another penalty to the sentence, represented in forcing male and female detainees to work in social and educational institutions, such as hospice and schools for persons with disabilities and special needs, where the nature of their job is usually in cleaning and services, which causes psychological impacts to them. This is the main goal for this tendency, to force the Palestinian struggler to work in these jobs which have more serious consequences than actual detention “.
Fares emphasized that this approach of penalties is mostly practiced against detainees from Jerusalem, within a program specified by hours and achievements signed with obligations of high fines, where the supervisors intended to provoke and blackmail detainees who are forced to do these jobs.
Fares stressed on the necessity of suspending this danger that threatens the humanitarian values, where it is unacceptable to keep the atrocities of the occupation without any intervention to end this fascist regime. He called on the international community to take immediate measures to set this entity accountable for all its practices and behaviors.
*Vindictive practices and cruel detention conditions experienced by female detainees in Damoun Prison*

The Commission of Detainees’ Affairs stated in a report issued today that female detainees held in Damoun Prison are living in a state of isolation, in the light of the daily suffering imposed on them, as the IPS practices all forms of abuse and torture against them.
The Commission revealed, according to its lawyer’s visit to Damoun Prison, a series of cruel measures, details of daily suffering and complicated living conditions, represented in separation from the outside world due to confiscating TVs and radios. Moreover, there is a shortage in females’ requirements and other necessities in order to cause psychological distress and affect their national and humanitarian status.
The report showed many aspects of the unlimited procedures pursued by the IPS against them, represented in depriving them of writing anything, as they do not provide papers and pens in prison’s sections. Furthermore, the duration of going to the prison’s courtyard is 40-60 minutes at its finest. In a related context, the commission documented a cruel detention experience for detainee (H.S), who has been arrested after invading her house and causing a state of tension among her family members and children. They handcuffed and blindfolded her and moved her to interrogation center, where she was exposed to the most cruel curses, insults and severe beating. She remained there for two hours in a dirty stinky cell, then she was transferred to Damoun prison and exposed to additional hour of investigation before being brought to the section.
The Commission pointed out that the general situation of all detainees is extremely dangerous and worrying, and called on international organizations to save detainees’ lives and not leaving them as victims to these vindictive procedures, which increase day by day.

Fares: The World Health Organization must act immediately to save the lives of sick detainees from medical crimes

The head of the Commission of Detainees’ Affairs, Qaddura Fares, called on the WHO and all medical associations to act immediately and practice pressure to visit sick detainees in Israeli prisons, against whom the IPS is practicing actual medical crimes, according to political decisions by Netanyahu and Ben Gvir. Fares said: “ this silence doesn’t make sense, the world is watching these crimes which are committed in public, as the number of martyrs has increased remarkably and sick detainees are kept without medication, thus there will be a real catastrophe at any moment, which will lead to the martyrdom of sick detainees”.
He added “there are recurrent visits to sick detainees in the so-called Al-Ramla prison clinic, as their testimonies are serious and upsetting, and contradict all international norms and charters. All kinds of deprivation are imposed on them in the light of the incapacity and inadequacy of this place. This coincides with the absence of qualified medical personnel to deal with their cases, where this place deserves to be called a cemetery of alive humans “.
In this context, and according to the lawyer’s visit, Fares has been informed of the extent of crimes through the case of wounded detainee Saleh Hassounah, 27, from Jalazon refugee camp/ Ramallah, who is detained since two months and a half. The soldiers tried to assassinate him while being in his bed with his 6-months-daughter, as they shot him in his legs and beat him in front of his family.
Fares emphasized that Hassounah was shot from a zero distance which led to fragmentation in his right leg. He was transferred to Shaare Tsedeq Hospital and remained 52 dqys and had 6 surgeries, in which they implanted platinum in his leg. He needs many other surgeries but the Israeli authorities ignored this and transferred him to Ramla prison clinic. He is currently living with pain and suffering and only given painkillers.
Complicated living conditions and torture against detainees in Naqab prison

The Commission of Detainees’ Affairs revealed the living and detention conditions of Palestinian detainees held in Naqab prison, which are imposed on them according to the escalation policy pursued since October 7.
The Commission emphasized, according to its lawyer’s visit, that the IPS is still holding detainees in very narrow sections, where each room accommodates 10 detainees at least and 15 in some rooms. The IPS prevents detainees from praying and reading the Holy Qur’an as well.
The lawyer stated that detainees are exposed to intense beat, humiliation and ill-treatment, where they avoid going to the prison’s clinic for fear of being attacked.
Detainees informed the lawyer that the food tastes bad and served without sugar and salt, which caused weight loss due to malnutrition.
Among these inhumane practices imposed on detainees in Naqab prison, they got provided with water for only one hour to bathe, in the light of the lack of clothes and preventing them of changing since October 7. They also said that there are no windows in their rooms, which exposes them to skin diseases due to the lack of ventilation and sunlight. Moreover, the IPS cuts off the electricity from 7:00 pm- 6:00 am, and they are allowed to go to the prison’s courtyard for an hour each 10 days at its finest.
According to the lawyer, the following detainees were subjected to intense beat, abuse and humiliation: . Usama Jabri, 23, from Nablus, detained since 2/5/2002, and lost 20 kilograms of his weight . Detainee Ibrahim Shalhoub, detained since 25/6/2023 . Detainee Sami Radi Assi, detained since 15/10/2023, and has fractures in the chest . Detainee Mahmoud Abu Usbaa, detained since 22/2/2011, suffers from problems in the urinary tract, allergy in the skin and toothache.
*Statement issued by the Commission of Detainees’ Affairs and the Palestinian Society Prisoner’s Club on following up the administrative detainees’ files in military courts after more than 7 months of the aggression*
Since the beginning of the massive aggression and constant genocide against our people, detention operations escalated in the West Bank, afflicting more than (8600) citizens of all categories, besides the transformation in the issue of administrative detainees, whose numbers increased and constituted the highest percentage historically, as the majority of those who were arrested after October 7 , were sentenced to administrative detention, including women, children, sick, wounded and elderly.
*Throughout 7 months of following up on thousands of files by the legal team, we confirm on the following:*
*First*: the military courts of the occupation, used its historical role after October 7 in consolidating the crime of administrative detention, and contributing to support the intelligence device to carry out more arrests, as military courts have been for many decades an integral part of the occupation’s tools to impose control over the Palestinians to undermine any role that may contribute to the Palestinian self-determination.
*Second*: we as institutions, confirm on our solid attitude since the beginning of war, that dealing with the occupation’s courts on its different levels, especially the case of administrative detention, is useless. Rather, it contributes to legitimize the unjust courts of the occupation. However, upon the request of detainees, in light of crimes, torture and abuse they are subjected to, and according to the desire of their families, who were deprived of visitation, we continued to follow up on files of administrative detainees in order to maintain communication between lawyers and detainees in the light of the restrictions imposed against them by the IPS.
*Third*: the Commission followed up on thousands of detainees in the phases of sentence confirmation and appeal, and recently the commission submitted petitions for administrative detainees to the supreme court of justice upon their request, despite of our historical experience which confirmed that the supreme court used as a platform to support its racist policies, have turned into a tool to implement the desires of settlers gangs. In this context, we confirm on our deep conviction in the uselessness of dealing with the supreme court of justice and all courts, noting that the court imposed additional restrictions on the follow up of administrative detainees files when detainees’ institutions started to submit petitions.
*Forth*: detainees’ institutions raised their voices throughout the past years in order to take a comprehensive national decision to gradually boycott the occupation’s courts, especially in following up the case of administrative detainees, as it has significant national dimensions on the fate of detainees’ cause. However, we are still looking forward to support our orientation on the national level to take this significant step.
*Fifth*: we assert to detainees families that we will continue our efforts to follow up the cases of your sons, despite the difficult challenges we face in the light of constant aggression and genocide.
Insults and retaliation against Palestinian women detainees in Damoun prison

The advocate of the commission was able to visit Damoun prison and met with a number of women detainees held there, who expressed the extent of daily suffering imposed on them, offenses, violation of their privacy and torture practiced against them.
The Commission emphasized that Palestinian women held in Israeli prisons are living in a state of isolation, as jailers intended to take revenge. They are cursed and insulted constantly and separated from the world outside due to confiscating TVs, radios and newspapers. There are constant attempts to affect their mental health and break down their national and humane content.
The Commission pointed out that sanctions imposed against detainees since October 7 have afflicted women detainees, where all electrical devices have been confiscated, poor quality and quantity of food is served, deprivation of family visits, lack of clothes, covers and feminine essentials. Furthermore, the IPS intended to pollute the water and determine the hours of bathing and the break in the prison’s courtyard.
The Commission confirmed that the IPS practiced brutal measures represented in intense beat, torture, handcuff and blindfold during interrogation or on they way to clinic, advocate visit and transfer. Moreover, they are subjected to strip search, threats of rape, hair pulling, dragging on the ground , besides being filmed in difficult and traumatic conditions.
The commission indicated that the general situation of women detainees is worrying and disturbing, and we call on International and Arabic feminine organizations to do justice to the Palestinian women especially detainees, and not leaving them as victims of the organized Israeli criminality, which is increasing day by day in the light of the dishonorable international silence, noting that the number of Palestinian women held in Damoun prison stands at (81) .

Ramallah- The Commission of Detainees’ Affairs and the Palestinian Society Prisoner’s Club held the IPS fully responsible for the life and destiny of detainee Ibrahim Hamed, 59, from Silwad/ Ramallah, considering a primary testimony of a detainee who was liberated today from Jelboa prison, who stated that Hamed is subjected to terrible torture and abuse acts.
He also added: “Hamed got attacked yesterday in Jelboa prison and he has bruises and wounds all over his body. He was bleeding from the head and could not be able to move after the attack, hustling health conditions is very serious and I can’t describe the situation he is living. There is a real threat to his life due to the intense beat he was subjected to, besides to all detainees in Jelboa prison”.
This horrific details are among many testimonies documented by detainees’ institutions and detainees who were liberated after October 7, which reflected an unprecedented extent of brutality, which led to the martyrdom of 18 detainees in Israeli prisons and military camps, besides detainees from Gaza Strip who died but the Israeli occupation still refusing to reveal their identities.
The commission and the prisoner’s club pointed out that the IPS intended to target the leaders of Captive Movement since the beginning of war, through torture, isolation, transfer and constant abuse.
The commission and the prisoner’s club confirmed that the extent of brutality reflected in testimonies is an indicator for the martyrdom of many other detainees, and considering that what happened to the detainee Hamed is an actual assassination attempt, and stressed that time constitutes a crucial aspect to the fate of detainees, due to the grave nature of measures practiced by the IPS, such as torture and starvation.
Detainees’ institutions call on international human rights organizations to conduct independent international investigation on the escalation of crimes and genocide against our people in Gaza Strip and put an end to the unprecedented crimes committed against detainees in Israeli prisons.

The total number of arrests stands at (8640) in the West Bank and Jerusalem.
. Women: the total number of women arrests stands at (290), including women arrested from the lands occupied in 1948, in addition to Gazan women who have been arrested in the West Bank.
. Children: the number of children arrests stands at (610).
. Journalists: (75) journalists have been arrested, (48) of them are still under arrest, (21) sentenced to administrative detention and (12) Gazan detainees under the forcible hide.
. More than (5900) orders of administrative detention have been issued since October 7, ranging between new orders and renewals, including orders against children and women.
Detention campaigns carried out since October 7 are accompanied by escalated crimes and violations such as humiliation, brutal beat, threats against detainees and their families, besides to vandalism and destruction in detainees’ houses, confiscating vehicles, gold and money, in addition to the destruction of infrastructure especially in the refugee camps of Tulkarem and Jenin.
Statistics include detainees who were arrested from their houses, on checkpoints, who surrendered themselves and those who were arrested as hostages.
Besides to detention campaigns, the Israeli forces implemented field executions, afflicted detainees and their family members.

(18) detainees martyred in Israeli prisons and military camps since the 7th of October: (Omar Daraghmeh from Tubas, Arafat Hamdan from Ramallah, Majed Zaqqul from Gaza, the fourth martyr’s identity is unknown, Abdulrahman Maree from Salfit, Thaer Abu Assab from Qalqilia, Abdulrahman Bahsh from Nablus, Muhammad Sabbar from Hebron, Khaled Shawish from Tubas, Ezz Al-deen banna from Gaza, Assef Refae from Ramallah, Ahmad Qdaih and Jumaa Abu Ghnaimeh, Walid Daqqa, Abdulraheem Amer, Dr. Adnan Barsh, Ismail Khader) in addition to the wounded detainee Muhammad Abu Snaineh from Jerusalem, who martyred in Hadassa Hospital.
It is said that the corpses of (16) detainees who martyred after October 7 are still withheld, among (27) martyrs. It is worth mentioning that the Israeli media revealed information that indicates the martyrdom of tens of detainees from Gaza in military camps, while the occupation authorities refused to reveal their identities. Moreover, they acknowledged the execution of many detainees.

Data does not include detention cases of Gaza, due to the occupation’s refusal to give any information and the continuation of practicing the crime of forcible hide against them. It is worth mentioning that the occupation forces arrested hundreds of Gazan workers in the West Bank, in addition to citizens from Gaza who were previously in the West Bank for medical treatment.

Detainee Zakaria Zubaidi faces continuous penalties and difficult conditions in Ashkelon prison

The Commission of Detainees’ Affairs stated in a report issued today, according to advocate’s visit, that the isolated detainee Zakaria Zubaidi, from Jenin, is suffering from difficult detention conditions.
The Commission emphasized that Zubaidi, currently held in the cells of Ashkelon prison since three months, is subject to daily inspections by special units subordinate to the IPS, where he suffers from lack of clothes and only has the clothes he wears, and served with poor quality and quantity of food.
It is expected to transfer him next week from the isolation of Ashkelon prison to another isolation, as he is being exposed to the policy of retaliatory transfer every three months.
The Commission said that the occupation and the IPS should hold responsibility for the life of Zubaidi, against whom an extremist policy is practiced, which violates all international agreements and covenants.
The occupation force arrested Zubaidi in 2019, as he was able to escape from Jelboa prison by digging a tunnel, with five of his colleagues.
The occupation forces arrested them again and sentenced them to additional 5 years, and a fine of 5000 NIS, in addition to practicing deliberate torture against them, solitary confinement, medical ignorance and physical and psychological abuse.
The leader detainee Hussam Ruzzah was subjected to 4 assassination attempts since launching the war in Gaza

The Commission of Detainees’ Affairs stated that detainee Hussam Ruzzah, 67, from Nablus, leader in the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, was exposed to torture and humiliation four times in an attempt to kill him.
The advocate of the Commission, who visited Jelboa prison, confirmed that Ruzzah attended the visit leaning on a crutch and walking hard, as he suffers from intense pains , due to severe attacks by masked jailers and soldiers without taking into account his health conditions, which made him unable to walk alone.
He said: “the jailer cursed me and my sister without any reason or justification, so I replied to the insult. Suddenly, the commander officer came accompanied by 5 masked soldiers and took me out of the room, started to beat me for more than quarter-hour and then attacked me in a brutal manner. I couldn’t stand up due to severe pain and I suffer from walking difficulty until this day. They took the muscular corset as a means of punishment and left me without medication”.
He added: “the same officer came into my room with many soldiers in 5/4/2024, attacked me abruptly and beat me three times in the same day. They continued the series of torture in 30/4/2024, as they invaded my room and harassed me in front of my colleagues”.

Sick detainees in Ramla prison between medical crimes and the mercy of heaven

It’s the exact description of sick detainees held at the so-called Ramla prison’s clinic, in which medical crimes, humiliation, torture and violations are committed. They only have to wait for the heaven’s mercy, and they will either survive with the help of fate or they will be included in list of occupation’s victims.
The advocate of the Commission, who visited the prison the day before yesterday, stated that sanctions imposed against detainees in general are also applied against sick detainees with some inhumane and unethical practices, as jailers take advantage of detainees’ diseases and injuries to place them in a complicated and hazardous environment, in which the is a real threat to their lives.
The commission emphasized “all occupational measures were imposed on them by the IPS after October 7, represented in handcuffing and blindfolding detainees on their way to meet the advocate and on their way back, without taking into consideration their health conditions, which forced detainees to take a decision not to meet the advocate or receive medical treatment.
Moreover, the IPS made a decision to halt the physiotherapy for wounded detainees and prevented the special food served for sick detainees who have diseases in stomach and the digestive system. Furthermore, the IPS prevented detainees from using the pay phone, which was used to communicate with their families, and the rooms of sick detainees were turned into cells, which lack the minimum essentials of medical care”.
The Commission of Detainees’ Affairs revealed that the vast majority of sick detainees held at Ramla prison’s clinic are from Gaza Strip, who were arrested, shot and tortured by the Israeli soldiers.

Issued by the Commission of Detainees’ Affairs and Palestinian Society Prisoner’s Club ?Martyrdom of two detainees from Gaza Strip, including Dr. Adnan Ahmad Borsh, the head of orthopedic section at Shifa Hospital ?The occupation carried out an assassination against Dr. Adnan Borsh Ramallah- The Commission of Detainees’ Affairs and the Palestinian Society Prisoner’s Club announced the martyrdom of two detainees from Gaza Strip : Dr. Adnan Ahmad Ateya Borsh, 50, from Jabalia refugee camp, the head of orthopedic section at Shifa Hospital, and Ismael Abdulbari Rajab Khader, 33. The Commission and the Prisoner’s Club stated in a joint report issued today that Dr. Borsh has been arrested by the occupation forces on December 2023, while being at Awda Hospital along with several doctors. He martyred in 19/4/2024, in Ofer prison, according to the Palestinian General Authority of Civil Affairs, and his remain is still withheld. It is worth mentioning that the martyr has been wounded during his presence at Indonesian Hospital 5 months ago. The second martyr is Ismael Abdulbari Rajab Khader, 33, who was martyred after his arrest, according to information provided, where his corpse was delivered today along with tens of detainees from Gaza Strip, who were released at Karm Abu Salem border, as announced by General Authority for Crossings and Borders in Gaza. The Commission and the Prisoner’s Club confirmed that both detainees were martyred due to medical crimes and torture, in the light of the continuation of the “forcible hide” crime committed against them, and emphasized that what happened with Dr. Borsh in particular is a deliberate assassination, coming within a systematic targeting process against physicians and the health care system in Gaza. A case in point is the aggression against Shifa Hospital and its medical staff, and the consequent vandalism to the hospital, in addition to turning it into a cemetery, where hundreds of people have been killed and arrested there. The Commission, the Prisoner’s Club and the National Captive Movement mourned both martyrs Borsh and Khader, who joined Palestinian martyrs for the sake of their freedom, and stated that with the loss of Dr. Borsh we are losing a struggler national figure, who remained on duty for tge last moment, moving from hospital to another inside Gaza to treat wounded people, until he had been arrested by the Israeli occupation forces at Awda Hospital on December 2023. With their martyrdom, the number of detainees who martyred in Israeli prisons due to torture, starvation and medical crimes stands at (18), whose martyrdom eas announced by the Israeli authorities. Moreover, the Israeli media publish a press report announcing the martyrdom of (27) detainees at least in Israeli prisons and military camps , without revealing their identities. With the continuation of the “forcible hide” crime against detainees from Gaza, the number of martyrs will increase, in the light of testimonies of torture and brutal crimes by liberated detainees and torture marks apparent on their bodies, on addition to videos published during the ground invasion that included terrible scenes, such as detention operations for hundreds of Gazan people while being naked and held in degrading conditions. The provided information on detainees from Gaza still insufficient, regarding their figures, identities and places of detention, where the sole information announced by the IPS is the 849( illegal fighters). It should be noted that the group of detainees released from Ofer prison, have mentioned section (23), in which detainees from Gaza are held, and spoke about the acts of torture and humiliation by armed special forces who invade the section.
The Commission and the Prisoner’s Club pointed out that despite the calls and demands for international human rights organizations to stop the crimes of forcible hide, no body cares.
115 detainees in Itzion detention center encounter death every day

The advocate of the Commission of Detainees’ Affairs confirmed that it goes an upward curve to the worst in Itzion detention center, in which 115 detainees are held,since October 7, as it witnesses retaliatory suppressive measures.
Soldiers intend to break into rooms for inspection, knock on iron doors to prevent detainees from sleeping, cursing, threats, attacks and beating without any reason.
Moreover, the IPS uses food as a means of torture and slow killing against detainees, who lost weight and their bodies became vulnerable. They serve cold food in small quantities, one slice of bread for two detainees and two eggs for 12 detainees.
In a protest against these measures, detainees returned their meals to put pressure on the IPS to back down from these measures, but in vain.
Besides the above, soldiers took all towels and threw them in the garbage, so detainees wouldn’t be able to bathe.
The advocate of the commission stated that detainee Yousef Dar Aldeek, from Kufr Ne’meh/ Ramallah, will start a hunger strike soon if he is not transferred from Itzion, as he is held there since 70 days. He is sentenced to 6 months of administrative detention, noting that the majority of detainees are not aware of their administrative detention sentences or the its period.
Regarding detainees Amer Baajawi from Jenin, they brought him carried to the visit room as he can’t walk alone due to his injury during a previous invasion to Jenin. He was shot in the neck, chest, leg and face, where he suffers from a bad health condition and his colleagues help him. However, the IPS ignores his health condition deliberately and only gives him painkillers, whereas he needs intensive medical care.

The Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs confirmed that the Israeli occupation state breached international laws and agreements in dealing with Palestinian detainees, especially the Third and Fourth Geneva Conventions, which include obvious articles concerning detainees of a national liberation movements and the mechanisms of treating them in terms of their rights related to health and living conditions.
The Commission confirmed in a statement issued today that the series of vindictive and abusive measures practiced against detainees after October 7 are considered awful war crimes, and that the perpetrators should be held responsible. These crimes were based on the denial of the Palestinian detainee’s humanity and unleashed the occupation system to launch its brutality, which appeared on the bodies of liberated detainees, who got exhausted by starvation, beating, cold weather and deprivation.
In a related context, the commission pointed out, based on the advocate’s visit to Megiddo Prison, that detainees have talked about the difficulty of their daily life since launching the war on Gaza, as detention conditions became intolerable at all levels, for instance:
. All rooms are overcrowded, and each room has 6 beds and accommodates 14 detainees
. Deliberate medical neglect, and there are many detainees with chronic diseases who are not given medication.
. Detainees are only allowed to own the clothes they wear; they have to wash them and wait for them to dry.
. The food is bad in both quantity and quality, as they have nothing else to eat inside the room, and the amount of food given to the detainees in the rooms is distributed with a spoon
. Detainees complain of the severe cold in the prison, especially since the windows have been removed.
. Detainees are deprived of using books, paper, and pens, and any detainee who asks for paper and a pen is subjected to beating.
The commission call on the International Community and its human rights organizations to intervene immediately and break their silence to save Palestinian detainees and to ensure that this failure will not continue.
The IPS pursues the isolation of detainee Qaderi since 32 months

The Commission of Detainees’ Affairs emphasized that the IPs pursued its crime against detainee Yaqoub Qaderi ,51, from Bir Albasha village/ Jenin, detained since 2003 and sentenced to life imprisonment, where he is still isolated since 32 months, precisely since he escaped with five of his colleagues from Jelboa prison and walked around cities of Palestine for several days.
The Commission illustrated that the retaliatory policy practiced against detainee Qaderi started since the first moment of arrest, but it was escalated with launching the retaliatory measures against all detainees on October 7. He got transferred several times between the cells of Ohelekdar, Ashkelon and Remonim prisons, where jailers intended to curse him and threaten him to be killed, and that he would get out of prison in a black plastic bag.
The Commission demonstrated that extending the isolation of Qaderi came according to a decision of a military court, as the session was held on April 7, issuing a decision to extend his isolation for additional 6 months, despite his suffering from several diseases in the thyroid, high cholesterol, hypertension, toothache, headache and continuous pain in the abdomen and hands and continuous fatigue. The IPS allowed the advocate to visit him for 15 minutes, after a long argument with the administration of the IPS.
Regarding the general situation in Remonim prison, Qaderi said “the conditions are very difficult and complicated as all prisons, where cells are inspected on a daily basis, hot water is available for 10 minutes, the electrical supply from 6:00 pm until dawn. We are deprived of clothes and covers, food is bad, going to the courtyard is only for one hour and all jailers are masked. Qaderi is isolated with detainees Ali Abu Baker and Qusai Maree”.
It is worth mentioning that the detainee Qaderi is one of the heroes who were able to escape from Jelboa prison, as they succeeded after a year of planning with his colleagues: Zakaria Zubaidi, Muhammad Arda and Mahmoud Arda, Ayham Kamamji and Monadel Enfaiat.
(120) detainees held in Itzion detention center, suffering from complicated life conditions

The Commission of Detainees’ Affairs stated that Itzion detention center witnesses an overcrowding in all rooms, as (120) detainees are currently held there, and new detainees are getting held on a daily basis.
The Commission emphasized that the detainees held in Itzion detention center are from different cities of the West Bank, and suffer from complicated health conditions, in addition to the cold weather, starvation, humiliating, daily attacks, room invading, cursing, provoking and blackmail.
Detainees narrated the terrible details happened at the Eid night: “the night of Fitr Eid was one of the worst nights ever, as special forces invaded our rooms while being asleep without any reason. They took us to the courtyard of the prison and forced us to kneel on the ground, the soldiers dragged us in a violent way and cursed us. They inspected our rooms and threw the mattress and covers on the ground “.
Itzion detention center is located on a mountain between Hebrew and Bethlehem, where the weather is very cold, and it is near a training center for the army. Itzion center has 8 rooms, and each room accommodates 15 detainees. Rooms and courtyard have surveillance cameras.
