Ramallah- The Commission of Detainees’ Affairs and the Palestinian Society Prisoner’s Club stated that the Israeli intelligence services placed detainee Muhammad Zayed Khdairat, 21, from Thaherya/ Hebron, who suffers from cancer, under the administrative detention until 30/11/2024. This came after a decision by the military court of Ofer to release him on bail. His family went to receive him today but they were shocked by the arbitrary order of detention.
The commission and the prisoner’s club emphasized that the administrative detention order against Khdairat is a crime aimed at killing him in a systematic manner as happened to several sick detainees, especially detainees who have cancer, as they are facing unprecedented medical crimes since the beginning of genocide against our people in Gaza Strip.
The commission and the prisoner’s club added that the crime of arresting Khudairat, who has suffered from a lymph node tumor since childhood had underwent long-term treatment to control it, but the tumor appeared again about a year ago. He is still receiving treatment and it was decided shortly before his arrest that he would be given doses of biological therapy according to the treatment protocol set by Al-Najah National Hospital. He received two doses before his arrest out of a total of 14.
Khdairat was arrested on June 1, after breaking into his his house and he and his family were assaulted on the pretext of the so-called (incitement). He has not received any treatment and has not been allowed to take his prescribed medications since his arrest, despite the fact that his family insisted to give his medications to the force who arrested him. They took him to Etzion detention center at first and then to Ramla prison. Mohammad told his father, who communicated with him via video conference during the court session held last Thursday, "Dad, I am dying."
It is worth mentioning that the IPS has escalated the medical crimes since the beginning of war, which constituted the most prominent factor for the martyrdom of many detainees, besides to the crime of torture. There are no less than 30 detainees who suffer from cancer and tumors, held in the Israeli prisons.
The commission and the prisoner’s club called on international human rights organizations, especially the United Nations to fulfill their commitments and stop the terrible state of inaction towards the onslaught in Gaza and the mass aggression in Palestine, including the crimes against detainees, which represent the ongoing genocide.
The prisons’ administration crackdown on injured and sick detainees held in Alramla prison’s clinic

The Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees’ Affairs confirmed in a report issued today, based on the attorney’s visit to Alramla prison’s clinic, that jailers exploit detainees’ diseases and injuries to persist in their retaliatory and suppressive measures, leaving detainees to be victims of slow death.
Since October 7, the administration of Alramla prison imposed additional penalties on sick detainees, where they suspended physiotherapy for several detainees, prevented the special food of detainees who suffer from diseases in the stomach and digestive system, procrastinated in conducting medical examinations and treatment in addition to handcuff and blindfold detainees on there way to attorneys’ visit.
In this context, the commission pointed out that detainee Mustafa Naanish, (21), from Toulkarm camp, suffers from sores in the back and leg and moves using a wheelchair due to an explosion took place during his stay in a hospital in Toulkarm. He had injuries in the abdomen and the back, and had a surgery to remove part if his intestines. He receives antibiotics, painkillers and blood thinners.
Regarding detainee Saleh Hassounah, 28, from Jalazon camp/ Ramallah, he waits for the completion of treating his leg, as special forces broke into his house in 28/02/2024, opened fire at him during arrest and attacked him with intense beat, which resulted in injuries with live bullets in his both legs, and a fragmentation on his right leg. He was transferred to Shaare Tsedeq Hospital, where he remained 52 days , underwent 6 surgeries and platinum was installed in his leg. It is worth mentioning that he got interrogated during his stay in the hospital, and sentenced to administrative detention.
Statement by the Commission of Detainees’ Affairs and the Palestinian Society Prisoner’s Club on the case of sick detainee Mutasem Raddad

Ramallah- The Commission of Detainees Affairs and the Palestinian Society Prisoner’s Club stated that the prisons’ administration refused the visit of sick detainee Mutasem Raddad, 42, from Toulkarm, after transferring him from Ofer Prison to Alramla prison’s clinic, in which several sick detainees with chronic diseases are held.
He is one of the most difficult cases in the occupation’s prisons, where he was transferred from Alramla prison to Ofer prison after October 7, and he is facing an extreme medical crime, by depriving him the minimum elements of the treatment he was receiving.
He was transferred to Alramla prison last May after a deterioration in his health conditions, while the administration of prison refused to allow visits since his transfer.
The Commission and the prisoner’s club confirm that concern on his fate increases after receiving information that he was transferred to another hospital several weeks ago. The prison’s administration refused to disclose his whereabouts, despite the lawyer’s attempts to know his location and health conditions, and refused the lawyer’s visit request.
Detainee Raddad is one of hundreds of sick detainees in Israeli prisons, whose numbers have risen unprecedentedly in the light of the crimes of torture, starvation and systematic medical crimes, which constituted the main reason for the martyrdom of some detainees since the beginning of ongoing war of genocide.
A liberated detainee from Ofer prison delivered the message of Raddad before returning him to Alramla prison, in which he said: “I feel that I will be the next martyr in Israeli prisons, as my health is deteriorating day by day and I fainted many times in the past few months. My heartbeats are irregular and I have hypertension, in addition to breath shortness, and I feel like I’m suffocating without any help. I have severe pain in the joints and back and I could not sleep well. The only word I hear from jailers (you are dead here). Our plight as sick detainees in prisons cannot be imagined, as we die every day and detained in cells. We suffer from hunger, thirst, suppression, assault, torture and deprived of the minimum healthcare”.
The Commission and the prisoner’s club holds the IPS fully accountable for the fate of Raddad and all detainees held in Israeli prisons.
Raddad’s family asked for pursuing the pressure to provide the minimum healthcare he used to receive, as he did not receive any medication since the beginning of the war.
The commission and the prisoner’s club called for an internationally supervised investigation on the crimes and gross violations committed against detainees in Israeli prisons.

The Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees’ Affairs revealed, based on its attorney’s visit, two cases of sick detainees held in the Israeli prisons, where they are detained in extremely serious health conditions, in addition to medical violations deliberately practiced against them, leading to the deterioration in their health conditions.
The commission pointed out that detainee Hassan Hammad suffers from heart muscle weakness, as it functions at 30% and aided by an external battery to improve its performance. He used to take special medications for heart problems before his detention but the prison’s clinic does not provide him with these medication under the pretext that his medicine is not available.
Regarding to his detention conditions, the commission stated that he was exposed to intense beat during arrest process which caused injuries and bruises,however, no treatment was provided.
As for the health condition of detainee Ashraf Sajadeya, he suffers from hypertension, in addition to injuries in his legs caused by brutal attack that he was subjected to in Negev prison, as prison’s guards attacked him with batons all over his body, causing additional wounds in the head and legs, hearing loss in the left ear, nerve problems and teeth grinding.
In a related context, detainees described the situation in prisons as awful, where they are deprived of personal items such as clothes. The provided food is poor in quality and quantity, and all electrical appliances have been withdrawn. The Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees’ Affairs held the IPS fully responsible for detainees’ lives, and called on international institutions and human rights organizations to fulfill their commitments towards the cause of detainees, especially sick ones.
The cancer patient detainee Mahmoud Abu Warda is facing difficult living conditions in Remon prison

The Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees’ Affairs revealed the detention and living conditions faced by detainees in Remon prison, which are imposed on them based on the escalation policy commenced since October 7.
The commission emphasized, according to the attorney’s visit to Remon prison, that the administration of prison attacked the detainee Mahmoud Abu Warda, who suffers from cancer, during arrest in 19/10/2023, where the assault was repeated many times during transferring him from prison to another, which caused bruises and wounds in his face and arms, while the so-called Alramla prison’s clinic did not provide any treatment.
Detainee Abu Warda said to the attorney that he suffers from tumor in the kidney and he is supposed to have a surgery last October, but his detention prevented that. He is in need of a catheterization procedure in his heart, but his case is ignored and he is exposed to overt medical ignorance despite his serious health condition.
Detainees of Remon said that food is still bad and insufficient, as the administration of prison reduced the amount of bread, giving one loaf of bread for three detainees, in the light of the lack of summer clothes despite the hot weather in the prison, in addition to all sanctions imposed on them since October 7.
*Fares calls on the world to witness the Israeli crime apparent on the body of detainee Abdulbaset Ma’tan*

The head of the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees’ Affairs, Qaddura fares, called on the international system in all its popular, non-governmental and official formations to witness the extent of the Israeli crime committed against patient detainees, through examining the case of liberated detainee Abdulbaset Ma’tan, who suffers from cancer. He was liberated yesterday from the Israeli prisons in difficult situation after serving two years under the administrative detention.
Fares said: “this silent world must look properly at both pictures of the sick detainee Ma’tan and how he looked like when he was released yesterday and examine his body, which disease, torture and beat had impaired. The world should listen carefully to what was imposed on him in terms of inhumane and unethical treatment that made him a victim to cancer, as the administration of prisons provided a fertile ground for the cancer to spread in this patient and resistant body”.
Fares added: “Abdulbaset has miraculously survived after he was exposed to medical ignorance and slow death as the administration of prison deprived him of medication and publicly ignored his case. They wanted to end his struggle inside the prison under the pretext of his sickness, but his clinging to life with determination, patience and resilience made him most powerful than his wardens and malignant disease, as well as starvation that melted his flesh “.
Fares called on international and domestic humanitarian organizations working in Palestine to form a committee to visit the liberated detainee Ma’tan, to become aware of all details of detention and treatment he was subjected to and imposed on him, and to document the crime of detention and medical ignorance against him in order to submit it to the UN bodies and human rights organizations, which might be a motivation to take responsibility toward detainees in Israeli prisons, whom the occupation denies their humanity and rights to ordinary life.
Fares pointed out that his demand stems from his disappointment of the entire international entities that accepted inaction and ignorance to which detainees are subjected to, represented in the awful onslaught since October 7 until today. Furthermore, they abandoned them to be victims of the fascism and barbarism of the occupation system, which breached all international agreements, conventions and norms in dealing with detainees, including hatred, racism and revenge.
Fares emphasized that what detainee Ma’tan was exposed to in terms of deprivation of his right to treatment, applies to more than two hundred detainees who suffer from chronic illnesses and in need of immediate medical intervention.
It is worth noting that the detainee Ma’tan, 50, from Burqa/ east of Ramallah, spent almost 10 years in Israeli prisons, the majority of his sentence was under the administrative detention, and he is considered one of the most difficult and serious cases among detainees, as he suffers from colon cancer and underwent many surgeries before his detention. He was having a treatment program but it was suspended due to detention.
