Ahskelon agreement
The most prominent demands which was agreed on during the negotiations took place between the leadership of prisoners movement headed by
Marwan Barghouthi and the administration of Prison Service on 26-26/5/2017 at Ashkelon prison, after an open hunger strike lasted for 41 days
1. Expanding the standards of using the telephone to contact the family according to specific mechanisms, and continue the negotiations on this point which will remain a basic requirement for detainees.
2. Agreeing on a number of issues related to the family visits such as terminating the security ban imposed on hundreds of detainees' families, stopping the return of detainees' families form checkpoints and terminating the unjustified security ban for more than 140 children who were prevented from visiting their fathers.
3. Giving an initial commitment to shorten the time between the visits of Gaza to make the visit each month.
4. In addition to a set of issues related to the conditions of the visit in terms of bringing clothes, food, sweets and other stuff.
5. Discussing solutions on allowing the visits of second- degree relatives, and increasing the number of visitors for detainees whose parents are dead.
6. Give official approval on the second visit according to the mechanism agreed between the authority and the Red Cross.
7. Making an agreement on the Ramlah prison and returning the detainees to the hospital that has been reformed.
8. Agreeing on the issue of female detainees, especially the issue of gathering them in Hasharon Prison, the issue of their spouses and children visits, allowing them to get handcrafts, improving their arrest conditions, putting a special system for transporting them to the courts and stop searching them.
9. The issue of children: improving their detention conditions, their education and many related issues that were agreed upon.
