Statement issued by the Commission of Detainees’ Affairs and the Palestinian Society Prisoner’s Club on the case of administrative detainee Kayed Fasfous
The Commission of Detainees’ Affairs and the Palestinian Society Prisoner’s Club announced that the administrative detainee Kayed Fasfous has suspended his hunger strike, which lasted for (75) days in a row, protesting against his administrative detention.
This came after receiving a call from his family through the advocate of the commission, who visited him at Ramla Prison. Their call came out of fear of assassinating him by the Israeli authorities, in the light of aggression mounted by the occupation forces against our people and detainees who are facing collective retaliatory measures since October 7, 2023.
The Commission and Prisoner’s Club confirmed that Fasfous, who conducted a struggle with his empty stomach against the crime of administrative detention, has been totally isolated and wasn’t informed about the incidents outside, due to the strict isolation conditions in the clinic of Alramla prison.
In this context, the Commission and the Prisoner’s Club confirmed that the battle conducted by Fasfous represents our continuous struggle against the occupation and its crimes, and that with his strong determination he recorded a victory for the determination of our people and detainees.
It is worth mentioning that he will appear before the court on October 18, 2023, in the Supreme Court of the occupation , to consider the petition submitted by the Commission’s lawyer.
