The Commission of Detainees Affairs and the Palestinian Society Prisoner’s Club confirmed the martyrdom of the detainee Majed Zaqqul , 32, from Gaza in Ofer prison.
He is one of the workers that have been arrested after October 7 , where the Israeli authorities hide the news of his assassination during the past few days, until they announced the news through their media.
The martyr Zaqqul has moved to the West Bank three years ago and he was suffering from cancer. He was working in the lands occupied in 1948 since 6 months. He’s married and has a child, and his family lives in Gaza.
The Commission and the Prisoner’s Club reported in a joint statement, that the Israeli authorities have assassinated him without announcing the news immediately, but delayed the news of his martyrdom for two days, where they announced that two detainees have died, the first in Ofer prison and the other one in Atnaout military camp, without revealing their names. We could not be able to know the identity of the second martyr till now.
Accord to the terrible testimonies of Gazan workers who were released to Gaza, they confirmed that the martyr Zaqqul was subjected to a systematic assassination, such as the detainee Omar Daraghmeh and Arafat Hamdan, who martyred last month in Israeli prisons due to torture.
It is worth mentioning that the Israeli authorities still pursuing arrest campaigns against Gazan workers, and refused to give any information about their figures, identities, the places in which they are held ir their health conditions, in spite of the constant demands of detainees’ institutions to obtain accurate information about them.
With the martyrdom of the detainee Zaqqul, the number of the martyrs of the Captive Movement rises to (240) since 1967.
